Sunset on Mauna Kea was breathtaking. Stargazing great with dark skies. Guide Tay was very knowledgeable and got us up and down the mountain safely. Temp was warmer than expected due to little wind. Be prepared for walking on some uneven ground in the dark. The safety guidance given by Tay was excellent.

Kona Natural Soap is truly more than great soap! Greg, the co-owner/tour guide, provided us with a behind the scenes look at a coffee farm and working soap “factory”. He takes a lot of pride in his property and likes to share his knowledge with visitors. He seems to customize the tours based on his audience. He complimented us by telling us that we had “Midwest Sensibilities”. He was both engaging and funny. If you can’t decide which tour to take while visiting Kona, and there’s a lot, this is the one.

The boat ride at night was beautiful, they shared a ton of interesting information about the Mantas and helped ease any nervousness our kiddos had getting into the water. No better way to see Hilo!
This was the perfect way to experience Hilo! We were picked up right at the port. The van took us to 7 different sites around the area, among them the black sand beaches, Rainbow Falls, Mauna Loa macadamia nut farm and our favorite, Volcanoes National Park. We were so fortunate! Along the route, we found out that Kilauea was erupting and we would be able to view it. Maggie, our guide, adjusted the route just a little bit, so we got great views of the volcano from three different locations. Maggie was such an enthusiastic, intelligent and informative tour guide. Everyone just loved her! Take this tour! There is no better way to see Hilo!
