This was an amazing tour. Jason & Nicki are great! They taught us about off-grid, lava rock living. Jason is a fantastic artist with his paintings, tiki carvings, and upcycle art. Guava tea is unique and a must experience. We learned a lot walking around the property and can’t wait to visit again and see the continued vision come to life!! Fascinating visit with Jason and Nikki in understanding what it's like to live, essentially, "off the grid". We were given a tour of their property, learned about the local plants, the lava flows and much more. Also enjoyed seeing the art work that they created!

We had wonderful time with Jason and Nikki exploring their jungle. They put a lot of work into this land making it accessible and wonderful place for enjoying the nature. All the art pieces, sculptures, tiki wood and stone carvings, paintings bring additional joy and make this jungle land a very unique place. We enjoyed so much that we had hard time to leave.

Amazing! Tour was given by very nice couple who cleared the property themselves and built all the structures, including a couple buildings, art with recycling and environmentally friendly homesteading. Tour had a little bit of everything, but I was impressed by the buildings and plants I've never seen in person. Also great hospitality!

We were captivated by the creative ingenuity of the hosts of the Big Island Jungle Tour, Niki and Jason. We were shown how they have transformed wild jungle, one rock and many plants at a time, into an oasis fit for outdoor enthusiasts. With their bare hands and some basic tools, and creativity, they have turned the jungle into a home.

Very unique tour, this couple live off the grid on lava rocks. Highly recommended, must wear hiking type shoes as the whole place is a large lava rock pile. Want to get away from tourist this is the place.

Not for the physically challenged or closed minded. Definitely for enjoying genuine creative people.

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to the Big Island. My 11-year old and I learned so much about what it takes to live "off the grid" and about the plants in the area. We enjoyed Jason and Nikki's enthusiasm about their lifestyle and property. Jason's tikis and lava rock carvings are amazing and he was kind enough to give my son a try at carving wood and chiseling rock. It was a truly authentic experience, which is rare as a tourist. And a fun, interactive thing to do with kids. We were able to book the little cabin "The Okina" through AirBNB and experience the jungle and all its sounds at night, which completed the experience.

My wife and I learned so much today from Jason and Nicki about the natural habitat around their land and the work that they have put into it is mind boggling, we had a very hands on experience from sawing, chiseling and a little axe work, absolutely nothing goes to waste out their and Jason and Nicki are the best hostesses you will ever meet, after 2 hours out their it was like we had been friends for years, I highly recommend paying them a visit you won't regret it

Great jungle tour to learn a lot about plants and the rainforest. Had a fantastic time. Recommend for all outdoor entusiastics and natur lovers.

I can’t express how happy I am for this tour. Jason and his wife taught us so much about the islands, bananas, and even about life. You can see all the effort that went into making this a great experience. Everything is made and planned with love. By the end of it, we were chatting like friends. A nice escape from our busy lives and fake people. A truly engaging tour with really fun activities!

It was an amazing educational experience that shows you the untouched true beauty of the Big Island. Jason and Nikki are true keepers of the spirit of Aloha. It was a great tour that we will be taking again just to back to visit and see what's new in the jungle!!

The couple hosting the tour were very welcoming and excited for our company. We learnt a lot from them about the way of life of the locals on the big island and how they make the best of their environment. We enjoyed learning about the types of plants they had, their eco friendly ways of living, and their technique on how they approach planting without accessibility to much top soil. Most of all, we enioyed the conversations! Myself and my husband certainly recommend this tour!

Nicki and Jason are a lovely couple who graciously showed me their land and how they lived off the grid. Jason is a talented artist who has created tiki and lava carvings throughout their cleared space. He also has painted a number of palette paintings which were inspired by a New York artist. They were very knowledgeable of the plant life and the edible plants. They cultivate many banana trees/plants and other fruits and vegetables. I was offered the opportunity to plant crops and try my hand at using a chisel on the lava stone and an axe on the wood used for tiki carving. We ended with sampling banana leaf and guava leaf tea which were similar to green tea. The banana leaf tea was very smooth and lighter than green tea and the guava leaves did taste like green tea. This was a great experience and I was very grateful that I had the opportunity to spend time learning more about their lives in the jungle.
