We booked Ohana Tours’ Big Island in a Day and would happily recommend it. Miexia was a great guide. He was friendly, kept the day moving, and made a long itinerary feel easy. Pickup and drop-off were super convenient, which took a lot of stress out of covering so much of the island in one day. This tour is perfect if you want a little taste of the Big Island’s major sights without planning the driving yourself. You hit the highlights and get a real sense of what the island has to offer. The only thing to know going in is that you don’t get a lot of time at each stop. It’s a sampler, not a slow day at one or two places. That was fine for us and still felt like a 5-star day because the guide, logistics, and overall experience were so good. If you’re short on time and want the “greatest hits” version of the Big Island, this is a great choice.

We booked a trip around the island for Sept 8. through Cool Hawaii/Cool Hawaii with only 24 hours notice. We received a call 1 hour prior to departure from the operating company KapohoKine Adventures. It seems there was an error in the reservation.The disappointment was short lived as KapohoKine Adventures stepped up and sent guide MAC HUGHES in a van and we were on our way.We were thrilled with his knowledge of the island, its history, native plants and animals. We will return and book with KapohaKine Adventures again!!

Andrew was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, a fantastic guide/storyteller, and made us all feel safe. He is great at what he does! Seeing all the scenic parts while hearing about hawaiian history, the caves, the stars! Everything was so worth seeing. Doesn't even feel like hours had passed. Plus the hot chocolate at the end 👌 🍫.

Dan was a great guide. He gave us all the history and interesting info about the stuff we saw and we had a great conversation the whole trip. He allowed us to wander off and come back, took photos for us, provided flashlights for the lava tube, and we even got to share some local produce.This tour was well worth the price we paid. They had the whole thing planned out perfectly and we even learned a bunch of things about the areas we visited.Dan gave us plenty of time to wander at each stop and got us back on the road to the next stop like clockwork. We happened to book a day with perfect weather and since it was a non-cruise day, our group was very small and personal. Everyone was friendly, the car was clean and comfortable (AC worked well!) and we genuinely had a great time.
