Very Excellent Adventure Tour
What an excellent tour! Our guide, Garry, was so knowledgeable and interesting. So fun to explore with him. The tour picked us up at our rental house in a nice Sprinter van. We got to go onto private land which is pretty much uninhabited. They provided walking sticks, rain jackets, towels, day packs, snacks - everything was in great condition and excellent quality (ie. Patagonia jackets). It was so interesting to learn about the land and peoples who populated it originally. The hike was exactly as described - mild walking about 1-2 miles. Unfortunately, we were there the day before Hurricane Lala hit the island and the waterfalls were enormous so no swimming for us. Garry was amazed because he had been there 2 days prior and the size of the waterfalls was at least half to 3/4 of what we saw. We were disappointed to miss the swimming in the waterfalls but....that's nature for you. We had an excellent lunch afterwards. This tour is pricey but well worth it. I would definitely use Hawaii Forest & Trail again for other adventures.

Took the waterfalls and volcano tour. Absolutely wonderful. A small family owned and operated business, with tons of local knowledge and advice on things to do. After a day with them I didn't feel like a customer, I felt like family. Highly recommend for anybody wanting to see the beauty of Hawaii and learn cool history.

​This is hands down our absolute favorite coffee farm on the Big Island! What makes this place so special is the atmosphere and the incredible team - the staff were amazingly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. ​During our visit we enjoyed a fantastic walkthrough of the property where we learned all about the local plants and the step-by-step process of how their coffee is made. The tasting experience is wonderful featuring delicious coffee samples, chocolate-covered coffee beans and unique local Hawaiian honey. If you want more than a sample you can also order handcrafted coffee and tea drinks. As very selective coffee drinkers we can confidently say the coffee is outstanding - they even sell rare Geisha coffee! ​A special shout-out to the adorable resident cat who wanders around the farm. It is so heartwarming to see how lovingly the staff care for him despite his eye issues from local fire ants.​Pro tip: When you’re inside don’t miss the map on the wall! Scan the QR code to access a numbered guide so you don't miss any fun spots around the island. Be sure to pin where you’re visiting from on their world map and leave a note in the guestbook before you go. We loved everything about our visit and will definitely be back!

She was incredibly knowledgeable about the volcanic landscape, the geology, the history, and the unique plants and wildlife we encountered—and she shared it all with such genuine warmth and enthusiasm. The e-bikes made the terrain accessible and fun, and Jade's attentiveness to our group meant we felt safe and supported the entire time. What really stood out was how much she clearly cares about sharing the magic of the park with visitors. We had such a wonderful time pedaling through lava fields and native forests with her guidance. If you're visiting the Big Island, this tour with Jade is an absolute must-do. Five stars, no question.

Great, informative, and fun experience exploring a patch of jungle that Jason and Nicki turned into their home. Amazing diversity, great hosting, and really an eye-opening look at living off the grid in Hawaii. We enjoyed the banana leaf tea, the apple banana cultivation, the stories of the struggles and experiences of making jungle into a home. Plus, an adorable pet chicken that followed us around. Jill was great. She had us laughing from the start. We stopped at Rainbow Falls to start and it was great to learn about the significance of the falls to the community. We then headed up to the Volcano National Park, it was eye opening, we hoped to see the eruption, but only steam. Jill shared a lot of info on the history of eruptions and what it meant/means for the community, great opportunity to learn. We really enjoyed walking in the lava tube. We stopped at a local chocolate store at the end and bought some home. Overall a great way to spend a day in Hilo.Thank you, Michael

I took the Hilo Finest Waterfalls and Town tour with Hannah Kealoha Adventures while our ship, the Celebrity Solstice was in Hilo for the day, and I enjoyed it very much. It turned out I was the only one on the tour, so it was very personalized. We saw most of the places on the itinerary, and it was especially nice, since I was alone, that the places were completely uncrowded. The Farmers Market is very small during the week, and we did not go to the candy store. I needed some things that I did not want to buy on the ship, so the guides were flexible enough to take me to the local Target, where I was able to pick those things up. It was a very pleasant day and a low-key excursion. It was like touring the area with friends.

This was an amazing tour. Jason & Nicki are great! They taught us about off-grid, lava rock living. Jason is a fantastic artist with his paintings, tiki carvings, and upcycle art. Guava tea is unique and a must experience. We learned a lot walking around the property and can’t wait to visit again and see the continued vision come to life!!
