Alex is great!
Alex was fantastic. He is native to the islands and was extremely knowledgeable. He shared a lot of gems from his native culture to help you understand the islands and the volcanos. He is friendly, funny, engaging and draws you in. He blew a conch shell to draw us back to himself and was always clear in his directions. I would highly recommend any tour where he is the guide.

A terrific tour!!!
Can't imagine a better experience! Justin is an excellent tour guide! The tour van is his own and he keeps it in excellent condition. The tour is well organized with enough time at each of the stops to get a good experience of Hilo and the surrounding areas. He gets you as close to the volcano as you possibly can. The visit to the lava tube, the Rainbow Falls stop and the sea turtles stop are also memorable highlights.

Jill was great. She had us laughing from the start. We stopped at Rainbow Falls to start and it was great to learn about the significance of the falls to the community. We then headed up to the Volcano National Park, it was eye opening, we hoped to see the eruption, but only steam. Jill shared a lot of info on the history of eruptions and what it meant/means for the community, great opportunity to learn. We really enjoyed walking in the lava tube. We stopped at a local chocolate store at the end and bought some home. Overall a great way to spend a day in Hilo.Thank you, Michael

Aaron is the MAN! Amazing tour and day with him. he has a NEW passenger van and takes you to all the BEST places in Hilo. Need to stop at Longs...no problem...want the best poke on the island...he takes you there also. Much better deal than NCL tours which are cattle drives, this is a personal GREAT trip. Aaron is simply the best! We had the most unbelievable day with him. He was easy to communicate with and easy to work with. He picked us up promptly and took us to the volcano first where it was erupting. It ended up raining down lava rocks and we were the only people with large umbrellas. Aaron was prepared for any and everything! His excitement and enthusiasm made an unbelievable day even better! And he’s so knowledgeable!! I couldn’t recommend him more and would definitely book another tour with him when we come back to The Big Island. Thank you Aaron!!!

We contacted several tour companies looking for a private tour. Malahini was the first we found that was very accommodating for a private small group tour. We had other plans that day and our guide adjusted the tour to meet our needs. Dan was our guide and was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and fun. He made the day a great experience. This was an incredible private tour! From the start, the booking process was seamless, with follow-up reminders and detailed directions to the meeting point. Jodi and Rob did an exceptional job catering to everyone in our group, from a 13-year-old to an 80-year-old, ensuring we all had a fantastic experience.We explored Volcano National Park and were lucky enough to witness the active volcano—an unforgettable sight! They also took us on side trips to stunning waterfalls and breathtaking beaches. Every detail was thoughtfully planned. When they say VIP, they mean it: they provided flashlights, raincoats, and even special gadgets to help us capture perfect photos.We can’t recommend Jodi and Rob enough for their outstanding hospitality and expertise. Excellent trip with a great guide.
Excellent personal tour with a highly knowledgeable and passionate guide. We spent the day traveling through large parts of volcanos national park. By the end of the day, we walked away understanding the history of the volcanos in Hawaii and got an appreciation of the lifecycle of volcanic eruptions. As a bonus, Kilauea erupted 2 days after we visited the park so we were treated to a spectacular view. Rob is also a fantastic photographer. Ask him to show you his photos.

Rainbow falls is beautiful. We are lucky enough that Kilauea was near eruption sputtering lava. Lava tube was cool. Macadamia nut was neat. Cool Hawaiis description is inaccurate we did not have a beach but it wasn't part of what we booked so it's fine.
