See the Big Island in one day!
This tour goes all around the big island of Hawaii in one day. It took about twelve hours in total from pickup to drop off. It is a long day but you get to see just about every big attraction on the island. We did it as our first activity on a week long vacation. The coffee farm tour was very quick, so if you are hoping for something really in depth about coffee I’d suggest booking something specially for that. We had plenty of time at each stop to explore and see what there is to see. Our tour guide Drew was very entertaining and enthusiastic about sharing Hawaiian culture with us. He had a lot of great stories and one liners. Overall it was a fun day and we are happy we went.

Worth it!!!!
This was was so much fun. Stephan is a great tour guide very knowledgeable. Super helpful answered all the questions and if he didn’t know, he found out he really went out of his way to make everybody feel comfortable.. Didn’t get to see interruption, but we did get to see some lava burps.

We had such a great experience with Ohana Tours! This is an action packed day with comfortable transportation and a knowledgeable and personable tour guide, Miexia ( pronounced Meesha). His historical knowledge and insights and just overall love for Hawaii were apparent and added so much to an already cool experience with coffee and macadamia nut farms where we were able to try free samples with the option to purchase, black sand beaches where we saw 3 turtles sun bathing, volcano craters and lava tubes where we got to see a small eruption! (Nothing quite like seeing a volcano erupt in person!!), a fantastic lunch with large portion sizes and great prices (one of our best meals of the trip!), and two beautiful waterfalls! We highly recommend booking with Miexia at Ohana Tours!!

Must See Experience
Even with the Labor Day holiday and Hurricane Lowell on the horizon, Mel still managed to guide us through an epic excursion that we will never forget. We saw lava in real life from Kilauea! Mel is so knowledgeable and an all-around great person. He really is a special person and leads a very special tour. I didn't want to leave Hawaii without seeing a volcano. That was delivered and then some. The day was so well planned out. The airfare was booked for us. All we had to do was show up. Worth every penny.

I really wasn’t expecting anything major when I was getting ready for this trip, a nine hour car ride with a few sightseeing stops on the way. I couldn’t be more wrong. Our guide was genuinely one of the coolest guys we’ve ever met and we saw some of the most memorable things I’ve ever seen in my life. Each time we hopped back on the bus, it didn’t feel like a drag waiting for the next stop, because somehow I knew the next stop was going to be better than the last. This was the best thing we did on the trip by far, and I can’t wait to come back and do it again!

We booked a trip around the island for Sept 8. through Cool Hawaii/Cool Hawaii with only 24 hours notice. We received a call 1 hour prior to departure from the operating company KapohoKine Adventures. It seems there was an error in the reservation.The disappointment was short lived as KapohoKine Adventures stepped up and sent guide MAC HUGHES in a van and we were on our way.We were thrilled with his knowledge of the island, its history, native plants and animals. We will return and book with KapohaKine Adventures again!!
