Tylor, our first rate guide, was a wealth of information regarding all aspects of Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park! We loved his vast knowledge of this specific ecosystem - including Kilauea and Mona Loa - two of the world’s active and largest volcanoes, his personal unique insights and affable congeniality. Given it was our first e-bike tour experience (literally meaning our very first time on a e-bike!) there was some trepidation initially, but his step-by-step tutorial soon put to rest any concerns or worries we may have had. Of note, Tylor stressed a reassuring emphasis of safety and it being paramount given the sharing of the road with the multitude of park visitors. It was well worth the cost given the three hours covering a large expanse of the park you wouldn’t normally see if on your own. We would highly recommend Tylor and booking the Cool Hawaii Big Island: Fat Tire E-Bike Tour of Volcanoes National Park! Thanks for an awesome adventure and memories to take home to Colorado!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour and this our guide Kawika was incredible! He shared so much information about history, culture, science, etc. that enhanced every part of our day. He took extra effort to make the experience hands-on, pulling over to show us tephra, Pele's Hair, and more! Our flight into the Big Island was delayed, which put the tour 30+ minutes behind schedule, but Kawika handled the situation with professionalism and kindness, and we didn't miss anything. We were super-lucky that Kilauea was actively erupting with lava bubbling above the surface and we got to see it clearly! This tour was very well-planned and had a good balance of snacking/shopping, sightseeing, educational, and cultural stops. Excellent planning by Wasabi Tours and awesome execution by Kawika!

Hannibal our tour guide is AWESOME!!!
We had Hannibal as our tour guide and he was AMAZING!!! A+++!!! He’s so knowledgeable about the volcano and areas we were stopping to see and so much more!! He knows so much about the Big Island and also knows a lot about Maui! Used to work out in Hana! He’s so personable and loves to share stories which we love and enjoy!!! Definitely take this tour because the sights are so cool and Hilo is an amazing area to explore!

An unforgettable experience
Be prepared for one of the best small group tours you will ever go on! It is an all day (and night) affair, about 13 hours, but well worth the time. Todd was a great driver and extremely knowledgeable and personable guide. We were lucky to see Kilauea spewing lava, despite the foggy and rainy weather, which miraculously cleared up when we went back to halemau’mau crater after dinner. All told it was an unforgettable experience well worth the time and money!

I am glad we left Oahu to see the national park and other beautiful parts of the big island. The weather at the top where you look out at the volcano was windy and rainy but still great! It was so cool to go from the outlook over the volcano to seeing what the cooled lava looked liked and then to change drastically to a tropical eco system to walk through the lava tube. Then we got additional site setting that included things like beautiful waterfalls. I would recommend it for sure!

Great way to see the big island in a day!
What started out as an early morning, we drove to HNL airport, parked our rental car for $29 for the day. Boarded a 6am flight to Hilo, grabbed a Starbucks and were on our way. We did not need a jacket for the plane as it was the first flight and not super air conditioned. When we landed in Hilo we were met by Sean our guide for the day. Loaded up into the van, lucky for us it was only our group that day. Along the drive to Volcano park Sean was great about showing us things along the way to pass the time. We spent a good amount of time learning about the volcano ash, lava, Pele hair etc. The lava fields are so vast and intriguing. We loved seeing the fast moving and slow moving patterns along with where it meets the ocean. Feeling the steam vent was a beautiful unexpected facial. We stopped at many craters, walked the lava tube which was really cool. The rainbow falls was really nice and seeing the Banyon trees is always a sight. We ate lunch in the market and did a little shopping. We had to be wary of what to buy because we backpacked the day and had no checked luggage for the flight back. We walked the Liluokalani gardens and saw the Nene birds. We stopped at a black sand beach, caught some sea turtles and enjoyed the shore for a bit. Then on to Big Island Candies for a sample and some treats shopping. I was not a Macadamia fan before this trip, but the shortbread cookies are amazing. We had a great day with Sean and he provided us with waters and snacks to get us through the day. Highly recommend and was definitely a highlight to our Hawaii trip.

She greets you with her effervescent personality, and as the tour progresses, you are introduced to the Hawaiian language, history, and sagas. Time flies by, and at the end, you wish you could have started again.
