Maui Surfing & Windsurfing

We had an incredible time with Surf Yoga Maui and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to learn how to surf while having a fun, personalized experience!A huge shoutout to Eddie, my instructor, and Summer, who guided us through the booking process with ease! I came into the lesson with some concerns about surfing, and Eddie immediately made me feel comfortable while still challenging me—which was exactly what I wanted to get out of the experience. He brought a lighthearted, encouraging energy to the lesson, patient and approachable, and stayed right nearby the entire time to make sure I felt safe and supported. He also went above and beyond by offering to help my boyfriend, who had rented gear from Surf Yoga Maui as well for a very fair price. Eddie gave us some great local tips and recommendations for places to explore on the island, which was such a nice bonus!They also had a photographer there, which was a really nice surprise. The photos were such a great way to capture the experience, and appreciated there was no pressure when it came to purchasing them. Big shout out to Sean for capturing our day!A big thank you to Summer as well for making the booking process so easy. She was incredibly attentive and responsive, and even suggested moving my lesson to a different day because the surf conditions were expected to be better. I’m so glad we listened to her recommendation because the conditions ended up being amazing! The team also had surf booties, yoga pants for ladies and rash guards, to make for a warm and enjoyable surfing experience. Jedi was super supportive and got me up on the surfboard in no time. I honestly didn't think it was possible due to issues with my knees. He was very patient with me and cheered me on every step of the way. It was an amazing experience and I learned so much about the geography of the ocean, the etiquette of surfing and most especially the Zen of being at one with the ocean. Thank you, Jedi!

I have never surfed before and truly had a blast! Dan was a phenomenal instructor and helped me feel comfortable and confident on the water. By the end of the lesson, I was surfing slightly bigger and faster waves! Kiki the photographer also captured exceptional photos during the lessons. Mario was very patient with my two kids who had their very first surfing lesson with him. He made the lesson easy to understand and fun! He made sure they understood all of the safety aspects before letting them get out on the waves. In particular, Mario was very kind to my daughter who was really scared to get out there. They had a blast!

Windy weather messed with our scheduled lesson, but we managed to get three people foilboarding on a trip. What a blast! Steve, our instructor, was a professional parasailer in his previous life so he gives quick tips to help you get up on the board and enjoying your ride fast. My 15-year-old nephew deemed this the most fun he's ever had. He wanted to schedule another lesson for the next day. Steve is a joy to work with. This won't disappoint.

After a great transfer ride, we decided to use Victor again to take us hiking. It was incredible! I would HIGHLY recommend Victor for any tour, but the hiking tour has been the highlight of our trip. He is very knowledgeable about the island. Victor can tell you all the places to eat, drink, and explore. He took us for coffee and treats, three different spots, including hiking and cliff jumping. He was great with our two kids too! He even took pictures and videos for us. If you are looking for any type of tour while in Maui, this is the company to use.

Victor is an awesome guy! We met him through Lyft and he gave us a lot of helpful information about Maui. He connected me with his colleague Mr Ford, let me just say, Mr Ford is the nicest person I have met in Maui. He prioritizes treating every traveler like they are family, and I definitely felt that. He is also very generous and considerate of others. He took amazing care of me and my mom. He took me up to the Nakalele Blow Hole, it was amazing!

We have taken surfing lessons on past trips to Hawaiian islands, but this one was exceptional. So much fun! Eddie is a fantastic instructor. My husband and I (middle aged) and 17 year old daughter had a blast this morning! Communication about the lesson was excellent as well. Summer contacted me the night before and advised us that conditions would be better a little earlier and she was totally right, of course. I would highly recommend this company! If you’re thinking about it, just book it!

Our instructor, Devon, and the rest of the staff was amazing!! He was incredibly kind and patient! We felt safe and had a great experience. We got awesome pictures taken by a photographer to have as a momento of our “ride”. We would highly recommend Sea Maui Surf!!!

An incredible experience! Brian coached my session and he is phenomenal. He taught me the basics quickly and got us out into the surf in no time! Each moment spent was directed at making sure I got the most out of my experience. He is a master of his craft, judging what waves are good, explaining positioning and form on the fly, while also making sure I wasn’t wearing myself out. Brian tailors the lesson to your fitness level flawlessly and keeps the vibe chill and relaxed no matter how big the waves are. Brian’s 30 years of experience is worth every penny and I will recommend this to anyone interested in surfing. 10/10 experience, you won’t find a better instructor. I hope this review helps!

Such a great experience with a great instructor I had. John had guided me throughout every step by step. As a beginner, I was so afraid to be on the deep water, however, John kept me safe throughout the lesson so I was confident to be on the surf board and not be afraid to be drowned. At the end of the lesson, I finally know how to surf but ofc will need to practice more. Thank you so much for helping me find new hobbies.

Steven Smith was our instructor and he was awesome! He was able to work a varied level of comfort and experience with ease. He made everyone feel very safe on the water. He was full of positive reinforcement. We all had a blast!!

Brian was a great instructor. I booked a lesson as an introduction to surfing in Maui and to give me some pointers on turning. Ukumehame is a stunning place to surf. The surf was a little small for my lesson but that meant there weren’t many people on the waves which was nice. Brian also offered to help me out with a board on another day so I’d have more time on the waves.

All skill level!! Eddy is great and so patient and kind! He has all the gear and explains everything so thoroughly.

Kids and husband had a wonderful time. You get plenty of time on the boards and it was laid back, easy and fun! They are going back again.

Dante and his team were exceptional in every way. Safety first, yet successfully coaching to inspire confidence. We had a 6 yo, a 9 yo, and 7 athletic 21-40 yo's. The first or second time surfing for everyone. The coaching was tailored to each person and three additional adults with some surfing experience rented totally acceptable boards to hang out, surf with family, observe their progress, and share in the fun. Everyone had a blast.We live in Hawaii and have a constant stream of family and friends looking to surf for the first time or simply in need of a refresher. The relatively small waves on these beaches are perfect for beginners, yet still big enough to provide great enjoyment to skilled surfers.
