Geology EnthusiastIf you have any interest in geology, this is a fantastic tour. We learned about Haleakalā, volcanic rift zones, cinder cones, lava flows and how the Hawaiian Island chain was formed. Seeing the geology in front of you while hearing the explanation made it much easier to understand. The South Maui lava fields were incredible.

Stunning sunset and stars

We did the sunset tour on September 2026. While we couldn’t view the sunset from the summit due to the clouds, our guide took us down to lower elevations where we could see the colors and then eventually the stars. It was very clear our guide was super knowledgeable and passionate about the history and culture of the islands. He told so many stories while we drove and my husband and I learned a lot. It was nice that both of us could enjoy the scenery rather than one of us paying attention to the road!

Family Trip

Our whole family really enjoyed this tour. There was something for everyone—beautiful beaches, black sand, lava fields, ocean views and Hawaiian history. The guide kept the kids interested while still giving the adults plenty of interesting information. The open-air vehicle was also a fun way to experience the coastline

The long and winding road...but worth it!

This was a fabulous tour. Emma was an excellent drive and very knowledgable. We enjoyed the beautiful beaches, waterfalls, and lush rainforest. You have to try the banana bread coconut ice cream sundae!

Highly recommend

We were sad to miss black rock beach, but Pete made up for it. He was very knowledgeable, shared lots of information, and had a wonderful fun attitude. Very good driver, too. We had a great time!

Glorious!

This tour was remarkable. Such beautiful sights to see and Im glad we left the driving to someone else. That windy road would have prevented me from seeing the sights and I wouldn't have been able to take my eyes off the road. Loved the waterfalls and rainbow eucalyptus trees. It was a log tour but worth every minute.

Highly recommend we had...

Highly recommend we had fun and saw a rainbow at the falls, saw an active volcano, went in a lava tube (cave) stopped for macadamia nuts have a good lunch at an eclectic little artist property. Our driver Ellen was great very knowledgeable and a perfect driver. Definitely book with Ellen

Great tour for all ages

Trevor was the perfect guide/driver for our multigenerational group of 13. He took us to all of the spots on Road to Hana that we wanted to see and a few we didn’t know about. He even served as our life guard at the black sand beach and made sure we circled back to one stop we missed when the sky opened up. We did this tour on our first of two days in Maui (on a cruise) and pick up and drop off were very easy. He was patient and flexible and exactly what we were looking for. Mahalo, Trevor, for an awesome day!

Unforgettable!

We will never forget our day on the road to Hana with Patricia. We saw some breath taking sites. Patricia knew exactly where to stop and was extremely knowledgeable. We got many beautiful pictures and many cherished memories. Banana bread, coffee, ice cream and huli huli chicken were great! After a long day in the road to Hana we ventured up to the top of Haleakala. We had never seen a sunset as beautiful as that, it was almost spiritual. We spent 12 hours together and Patricia was amazingly patient, knowledgeable and charismatic. This was an amazing day. We highly recommend this tour and our tour guide Patricia.

Slingshot best for road to Hana

Excellent way to take the drive to Hana, handles better than most cars. Feeling of being full immersed with the rain forest and the road. Would recommend being prepared for any weather as it can change quickly.

Accommodating & reputable

We scheduled a half day to Hana & the Haleakala Crater sunset tour with Erik. He was very informative about the tour & was able to fit me in a few weeks before the tour. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our trip to Hawaii at the last minute & Erik was very understanding & immediately refunded me the full amount of the tour. When we get the opportunity to return to Hawaii I will definitely rebook with Erik again!
