This definitely gave us a starting place to know what was available around. Some of the activities we ended up finding we wouldn't have found had we not done this tour. They did well picking a route that is scenic but also easy to follow.

Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable of the trees and plants in the area... and was very patient and detailed in answering any questions about the local plants. The waterfall swim was super refreshing and definitely worth the trek. On the way to the Bioreserve, there were breathtaking views of the Mauna Kes. It was a clear enough day to see the telescopes on the summit. The bioreserve also has beautiful cabins for rent overlooking the rainforest and waterfall.

Axel has an amazing story and enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge during the two hour tour of the property. You will hear amazing stories about native and introduced species. His intern, Tim, showed us other areas of the property and ideas for the future. We ended the tour at a sweet little waterfall and swimming hole. Highly recommended

Mother daughter fun day
My daughter and I had so much fun riding around in this fun car! The roads are winding with beautiful water views on one side and mountains on the other. We were able to go at our own pace and stop wherever we wanted. We started at 1 and it was a cool ride back at night but we really enjoyed the day! If you are looking for a fun way to see the island I highly recommend a slingshot!!

Great tour and easy to use. My only “but” is that it would have been helpful to know that the excursion into volcano national park was not the main park entrance. We were fortunate that the road was closed and we didn’t spend 40 minutes driving all the way to the end and then discover we had not seen the main park area. It would be helpful to advise the options well before the first entrance to Volcano National Park. The Volcano National Park was incredible - the highlight of our trip to Hawaii!

Lots of information about Hawaii and not very much about actual sights along the way but very professional. Was a little hard to find the starting points. It would be nice if you could pick it up somewhere along the route rather than having to go to the starting point.

Fascinating and informative.
My husband and I wanted to explore the island a bit more in depth than just the beaches. I have a horticultural background so this was completely up my alley. Axel is a wealth of knowledge and his passion for plants really shows. They are in a drought period right now and their waterfall is quite small, to which Axel apologized profusely. I still enjoyed the pool at the base of the waterfall and even grabbed my snorkel mask so I could explore better. Was a welcome change to saltwater and surf. If plants are your passion then definitely check out this place!

The host was really nice and taught us a lot about trees and the history of the Hawaiian ecosystem. The waterfall was beautiful and the pool is deep enough to swim. We had the place all to ourselves which was nice.

A Great Tour Guide App that actually works really well !
This app was a great find. This was our first trip to Hawaii which meant we had a lot to learn Shaka Guide was amazing. He saved us a lot of time researching our road trips and helped us find our way effortlessly. The Shaka guide was entertaining, taught us a lot about the history of the islands, helped us find special places and told us lots of stories we would never have ever heard otherwise. We loved the Hawaiian music. We completed several tours on both Oahu and Big Island and all 3 of us in our group really loved it. Thank you !
