Dave was our guide. It was a rainy day but he made the best of it. He is very knowledgeable. We only had 4 people on our tour. We were unable to swim due to the intensity of the falls but the overall experience was great fun.

In all my years of travel, I don't think I've had a better guide than Aaron. His passion for what he does spilled over to everyone on this excursion. We were hesitant with the impending Hurricane Nolo coming in the next day. Aaron was not only reassuring but he made adjustments and additions to our tour that extended the trip and added great value. Friendly, knowledgeable, safety-minded are just some of his attributes. Whenever I hear of someone I know who's visiting the big island, his tour WILL be the one I recommend. Well done Aaron! Mahalo!

C Hawaii Tours was excellent! Agnes was very informative and made you feel like you were part of her family.We really saw many beautiful waterfalls and the black sand beach. Also, we saw other sites in Hilo as well. Our group really enjoyed our day off the cruise ship.

A terrific tour!!!
Can't imagine a better experience! Justin is an excellent tour guide! The tour van is his own and he keeps it in excellent condition. The tour is well organized with enough time at each of the stops to get a good experience of Hilo and the surrounding areas. He gets you as close to the volcano as you possibly can. The visit to the lava tube, the Rainbow Falls stop and the sea turtles stop are also memorable highlights.

Very Excellent Adventure Tour
What an excellent tour! Our guide, Garry, was so knowledgeable and interesting. So fun to explore with him. The tour picked us up at our rental house in a nice Sprinter van. We got to go onto private land which is pretty much uninhabited. They provided walking sticks, rain jackets, towels, day packs, snacks - everything was in great condition and excellent quality (ie. Patagonia jackets). It was so interesting to learn about the land and peoples who populated it originally. The hike was exactly as described - mild walking about 1-2 miles. Unfortunately, we were there the day before Hurricane Lala hit the island and the waterfalls were enormous so no swimming for us. Garry was amazed because he had been there 2 days prior and the size of the waterfalls was at least half to 3/4 of what we saw. We were disappointed to miss the swimming in the waterfalls but....that's nature for you. We had an excellent lunch afterwards. This tour is pricey but well worth it. I would definitely use Hawaii Forest & Trail again for other adventures.

We had a wonderful coffee tasting experience! It was educational, engaging, and entertaining from beginning to end. We learned so much about the growing, harvesting, roasting, and brewing process, and the tasting was both informative and enjoyable. The ATV ride was a great addition and made the experience even more fun. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a unique and memorable adventure!

very knowledgeable young man with a passion for his culture and history. great story teller gave us an awesome gift hiked barefoot with me and is very knowledgeable about the plants and flowers wish we could of hiked and seen the stars with him awesome experience he is built like a professional athlete and can hike at a tremendous pace thanks for all your effort and being so genuine as i hiked with my 14 year old daughter

Aaron is the MAN! Amazing tour and day with him. he has a NEW passenger van and takes you to all the BEST places in Hilo. Need to stop at Longs...no problem...want the best poke on the island...he takes you there also. Much better deal than NCL tours which are cattle drives, this is a personal GREAT trip. We booked this tour last minute to get help seeing and getting access to the waterfalls we wanted to see. From the outset Shawn was superbly professional. He delivered on his promises of clear communication and tailoring the day to include what we wanted. The private waterfall and rappelling were amazing and see all the other waterfalls on the east and north side of the island were breathtaking. The farm tour and cooking class were….interesting. See the potential there but the folks running that (not related Shawn or his company and to his credit he agreed with our assessment) need some more professional organization.Eric and Cora were great and felt completely safe rappellingPickup and drop off at our condo were seamless. When Shawn learned we had been at Volcanoes National Park the day before he happily filled in with extra information we had missed out on and answered our questions as we drove from Waikoloa to Hilo. His knowledge of the geology, history and culture of the island and Hawai’i are superb. And on the drive home we talked restaurant recommendations rations and they were all spot on. His talent for subtly figuring out what clients are asking for and then delivering exactly the experience they want makes home the best. We had a great day.Mahalo nui Shawn!!

We contacted several tour companies looking for a private tour. Malahini was the first we found that was very accommodating for a private small group tour. We had other plans that day and our guide adjusted the tour to meet our needs. Dan was our guide and was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and fun. He made the day a great experience. Highly recommend this private tour.
