Overview
Pohaha I Ka Lani invites visitors to go beyond sightseeing and step into authentic Hawaiian culture through hands-on experiences in Waipiʻo Valley. Guided by cultural practitioners and lineal descendants, guests learn hula, chant, lei making, and the stories of this sacred place while actively participating in mālama ʻāina caring for the land. Rather than simply observing, visitors build a meaningful connection to the valley gaining cultural insight, understanding ecological challenges, and contributing to the preservation of this living landscape.

What To Expect
A private group cultural stewardship experience in Waipiʻo Valley at the Āpua Ti House and the ancient Taro Patches of Nāpoʻopoʻo of cultural connection and stewardship
ORIENTATION: Begins with orientation & introduction at the organization's hub above the valley.
TRANSPORT INTO THE VALLEY: Your group then travels safely into the valley.
CULTURAL PROTOCOL & STORYTELLING: At the Ti House below Hiʻilawe Falls, your hosts welcome you with cultural protocol, history & moʻolelo (storytelling)
STEWARDSHIP ACTIVITIES: Then the experience immerses the group in hands-on stewardship activities tailored to small groups such as kalo planting, native plant care, invasive species removal, restoration of ancient taro patches, and other mālama ʻāina work.
LUNCH: Enjoy lunch at the Ti House in front of Hiʻilawe waterfall. (6 hr activity only)
Optional for a local lunch to be provided ($25)
Refreshments, PPE, and guided 4x4 valley transport are included.
