What To Expect

Take to the skies and parasail up to 1,200 feet or 800 feet for stunning views of the Big Island. Our parasailing activity lasts up to one hour. Each of our USCG certified boats can fit up to 10 passengers; however, after 40 years of offering exhilarating parasail rides UFO has determined that 8 passengers on our shared charter trips is the most comfortable.
The take-off and landing is completely dry and safe for parasailers of all skill levels and children as young as 5 years old. You can parasail alone, in tandem or triple— it’s your choice! Parasailers MUST WEIGH AT LEAST 160 pounds in order to fly alone. Tandem and triple flights are available with a max weight limit of 450-550 pounds. The captain can increase or decrease these restrictions at their sole discretion based on safety, wind, and sea conditions.

- Please note: While time on the boat may be 40 minutes to 1 hour, time in the air is 6 minutes for 800 feet and 9 minutes for 1200 feet

Dec 2021Although it is best for you to be comfortable in the water, you do not have to know how to swim. Each guest is provided with a buoyancy compensator (BC) that will assist with flotation.
Apr 2023Yes, the minimum age to parasail is 6 years old. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their liability waiver prior to boarding the vessel. At Cool Hawaii safety is our number one priority. The minimum weight required for parasailing is roughly 90 pounds. If the flyer is less than 90 pounds, they will simply fly tandem with someone not to exceed roughly 450 pounds combined weight. Weight requirements may differ due to wind conditions.
Feb 2022If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.
Feb 2023- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the activity start time.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the activity start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the activity start time will not be accepted.
- Cut-off times are based on the activity local time (HST).
