Our Road to Hana tour was an unforgettable experience! We enjoyed delicious food and incredible views, saw surfers and sea turtles, visited black- and red-sand beaches, and even swam beneath a waterfall. Of course, I especially loved seeing all the amazing tropical plants! Our guide, Shayne, was exceptional—knowledgeable, entertaining, and so much fun. We had a fantastic day and highly recommend this tour!

Alec was great! He took us on beautiful trails that we would have never found on our own - not crowded and very secluded! We were able to swim in waterfalls, hike through bamboo forest, had great local food along the way, and he was very attentive to what we wanted to do throughout our tour. If we said we wanted to do something - he knew a spot! This was our favorite experience of our trip to Maui. If you're thinking about doing a Road to Hana tour, book with Alec!!

Excellent Road to Hana experience
Alec gave us an awesome experience on our road to Hana trip. It was super nice to have such an experienced driver with lots of local knowledge so we could look out at everything without worrying about driving. We took a few small hikes that you would not know anything was there like the bamboo forest trail to a waterfall. He worked very hard to take some amazing photos of us from unique angles, and poses that will help us remember the day. He also had lots of knowledge of the plants to answer our questions. Overall an excellent experience and higly recommended.

Great experience!
Great 1st time trip for my boyfriend and I to the Road to Hāna. Aukai was our driver and guide and he was fantastic! He was very patient and knowledgeable about all things with Hāna and Maui. The lunch was really good and we had plenty of time at each stop. On the way back down we had some bad weather with rain and fog and Aukai drove like a pro and got us back safe and sound. In my opinion the price was far for the experience. I would definitely recommend doing the Road to Hāna with an experienced driver and not do it on your own.

This is a beautiful winding ride through the jungle. It is best to let someone local who knows the road do the driving so you can just enjoy the views of the flora, fauna and lovely waterfalls. Our driver Nick knew the best spots and was knowledgeable about all the places we were seeing. We would definitely do it again!

We had a wonderful experience with John who led us on the road to Hana! We are a big family of 7, so having a private car made the journey comfortable and enjoyable. Was weary of making the drive myself since I wanted to view the sites instead of worrying about the drive. So glad sister and I booked this trip with Local Maui Tours. Met easily with guide (I'm horrible with names, Callen sp?) at a safe location. He drove a clean and very comfortable Wagoner. Felt very comfortable with his driving especially with all the curves, bridges and having to stop for single lane sections in some areas. He was very thoughtful and brought a fresh coconut and mangoes for us to try along with extra water. Beautiful drive with what seemed like waterfalls around every curve. Had plenty of time to enjoy the stops along the way.

The Half Road to Hana was more than our family of 9 expected. We were in two different vehicles but our guides, Spencer and Luke, provided us with a most memorable experience. Both were very knowledgeable about the surroundings, the history of the area and were always willing to take our questions. Both were humorous and polite young men. While at a waterfall, our son and oldest granddaughter jumped off the waterfall after being guided and instructed ever so carefully as to how to jump safely. Needless to say they were beyond excited about their successful jumps! And the guides jumped as well. All jn all it was the highlight of our trip to Hawaii and thank you to the guides for making it so!

Our tour guide Travis was amazing. Funny, knowledgeable and very good at offering options specific to our family and how we felt in the moment. The roads are very windy (600 switchbacks) but I never felt like we were in an unsafe situation, even when he had to back up or maneuver in tight circumstances - I felt that my family and I were very safe. Ask for Travis. He also knows a lot about Hawaiian culture, my husband, teen and 20 year old really enjoyed themselves. And so did I!
