There were only 8 on the tour. The vehicle was smart, clean and comfortable. Easy check-in port side. The driver was Randy and not only was he very knowledgeable but he was amenable and a good organizer. It was a 6 hour tour and we went through every climate zone with the exception of desert and ice. Included was a very acceptable lunch. It was a worthwhile tour

Nick was very knowledgeable, personable, very aloha. Felt safe with him driving those difficult roads. From swimming in a waterfall, to exploring a lava tube, to seeing green sea turtles, Nick took us to places other tour companies were not going. By the end of our trip, he became part of our crew and a friend.

My mom and I had the best experience with Experience Hawaii. I would give this review 100 stars if I could! Michael, the owner, worked with me directly to curate two days of the most perfect VIP tours of Hawaii. Michael was helpful, patient and most of all kind! He ensured that we were matched with the absolute best private guide (shout out to the one and only wonderful Seth!!). Seth was friendly, fun, and full of interesting information about Hawaii. He even knew all the good spots to go shopping :) It’s important to note that my mom was using a cane during this trip and we felt super safe and in great hands with Seth the entire time. If you are even considering booking tours through this company, do it!

Alec was great! He took us on beautiful trails that we would have never found on our own - not crowded and very secluded! We were able to swim in waterfalls, hike through bamboo forest, had great local food along the way, and he was very attentive to what we wanted to do throughout our tour. If we said we wanted to do something - he knew a spot! This was our favorite experience of our trip to Maui. If you're thinking about doing a Road to Hana tour, book with Alec!!

We booked months in advance. My wife’s birthday & we wanted to go to Hāna & see the sunset at Haleakala. We didn’t want to rent a car or drive it ourselves. Michael created a birthday tour for us and assigned Levi as our guide. Levi did a great job, took us to many of the waterfalls, introduced us to locals & local shops. We never felt like tourists, we felt like friends learning and seeing Hāna. Levi created a list of our must do items and started working through them. Great day, great weather & good night to the sun as it set behind the clouds from our vantage point on Haleakala.

Excellent Road to Hana experience
Alec gave us an awesome experience on our road to Hana trip. It was super nice to have such an experienced driver with lots of local knowledge so we could look out at everything without worrying about driving. We took a few small hikes that you would not know anything was there like the bamboo forest trail to a waterfall. He worked very hard to take some amazing photos of us from unique angles, and poses that will help us remember the day. He also had lots of knowledge of the plants to answer our questions. Overall an excellent experience and higly recommended.

I cannot recommend this tour company enough, and if you have the opportunity to request Yvonne, absolutely do it!Yvonne gave us the most incredible private Road to Hana experience. She had so many interesting stories to share, knew so much about the island, and made the entire day feel personal, authentic, and completely different from a typical sightseeing tour.There are honestly so many special things about this tour that I don’t even want to share because I wouldn’t want to ruin the surprises for anyone else! One particularly meaningful moment was when Yvonne created a beautiful keepsake for me that I was able to bring home. It is something I will cherish forever and will always remind me of our day together.Yvonne didn’t just take us on a tour. She gave us a truly original experience and memories that I will treasure forever.This was a great, great tour and easily one of the highlights of my time in Hawaii. Jill was amazing. It was our first time on Maui and she made sure to steer us towards truly unique experiences and away from some tourist traps. The ride in the Bronco truly provided an immersive experience of being in the rainforest and her skill in navigating the road in on/off rainy conditions left us able to take it all in. Black and red sand beaches, turtles, George, Huli Huli chicken, waterfalls, you name it! Truly unforgettable experience!

Great trip to Hana.
Was weary of making the drive myself since I wanted to view the sites instead of worrying about the drive. So glad sister and I booked this trip with Local Maui Tours. Met easily with guide (I'm horrible with names, Callen sp?) at a safe location. He drove a clean and very comfortable Wagoner. Felt very comfortable with his driving especially with all the curves, bridges and having to stop for single lane sections in some areas. He was very thoughtful and brought a fresh coconut and mangoes for us to try along with extra water. Beautiful drive with what seemed like waterfalls around every curve. Had plenty of time to enjoy the stops along the way.
