Can’t say enough about our experience today with our guide, Shayne, on the road to Hana. The journey itself is amazing, but Shayne added so much with all of his knowledge of the area and the best places to stop. He made the drive so fun, too, with great conversation and music! We never felt rushed and he made sure we finished in time for our dinner reservation. Definitely worth it and would do it again!

It's a nice experience to have. The sunset was beautiful but the sun went down so fast. It could have been better but that's out of anyone's control except God. We still enjoyed the tour and met people from different places. Just an FYI, don't set your expectations so high so you won't be disappointed.

My daughter and I enjoyed our Road to Hana tour…be prepared as it is a very long day! We were picked up at 6:10 and dropped off at 6:15! Lunch was very good. Snack on the bus in the morning was nice. Our tour guide Lorelei was great!

🌅 This morning, we got a glimpse of heaven. 🤍 As we stood above the clouds and watched the first light of day break across the sky, it was hard not to feel the presence of God in the beauty surrounding us. ☁️✨ The colors, the clouds, the stillness—it all felt almost too beautiful to be real. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. And the breakfast afterwards was fabulous!

Beautiful sunrise with some laughs
Preston at Polynesian Adventure was a phenomenal tour guide and had us laughing most of the trip. He was very knowledgeable and had good recommendations. He prepared us for how to get the most out of the experience before the sunrise and pointed out several scenic spots on the way back down, allowing us to get out and take photos. The breakfast at the plantation was delicious. Overall, it was a great experience!

Preston made the excursion worth it! He loves what he does and takes the time to teach you about different things and gives you plenty of time to enjoy your experience. The tour itself was fantastic! The driver/guide was an excellent driver and was extremely skillful navigating the switchbacks, hairpin turns, lack of guardrails in some spots with multi-thousand foot drop-offs The views were spectacular and we saw one of the most memorable sunsets at 10,000 feet. Dinner was a box-dinner with a nice salad and a delicious cold-cut sandwich. If there was anything that wasn't exceptional, it would be that the bus was a half-hour later in picking us up than it was scheduled. By itself that wasn't a problem except that there was no text, call, or other message to inform us that the delay was caused by construction and that it was ok. The other issue was price. It was pricey, but the deep knowledge shared by "Uncle Mitch", our driver/guide was extensive and captivating, for the entire six hours. That, the natural beauty, and the surreal experience of watching the sun set on the tops of the clouds as we looked down at them from 10K feet made all problems coalesce into nothing that couldn't be handled. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that enriches your soul. A must-see when in Hawaii.

We had a wonderful experience on the Haleakala Sunrise Tour! Seeing the sunrise from the top of Haleakala was absolutely beautiful and definitely a must-do activity while visiting Maui. Our guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience enjoyable from start to finish.The one area we would suggest improving is the drop-off process at the end of the tour. We were one of the last groups picked up in the morning, so we expected that we might be among the first dropped off afterward. Instead, the van drove right past our resort and continued north to drop off other guests before eventually bringing us back. This added close to an extra hour to an already very early and long morning.Since our resort was directly along the route, it would have made much more sense to drop us and the other nearby guests off as the van passed by, especially since everyone else was staying farther north.Overall, we really enjoyed the tour and would absolutely recommend the Haleakala sunrise experience. We just hope the company will consider organizing the return drop-offs geographically so guests aren’t spending unnecessary extra time in the van after such an early start.

Have them drive so you can enjoy the ride!
This is a beautiful winding ride through the jungle. It is best to let someone local who knows the road do the driving so you can just enjoy the views of the flora, fauna and lovely waterfalls. Our driver Nick knew the best spots and was knowledgeable about all the places we were seeing. We would definitely do it again!
