I cannot recommend this tour company enough, and if you have the opportunity to request Yvonne, absolutely do it!Yvonne gave us the most incredible private Road to Hana experience. She had so many interesting stories to share, knew so much about the island, and made the entire day feel personal, authentic, and completely different from a typical sightseeing tour.There are honestly so many special things about this tour that I don’t even want to share because I wouldn’t want to ruin the surprises for anyone else! One particularly meaningful moment was when Yvonne created a beautiful keepsake for me that I was able to bring home. Our Road to Hana private tour with our guide, Honesty, was amazing!The vehicle was of course top notch, the scenic drive was breathtaking, and Honesty was such a genuine person and guide and taught us a lot throughout the day. She was prepped with ponchos, umbrellas, hand sanitizer, even toilet paper. Her knowledge of local fauna and even grabbing edible flowers for us to try was super fun.The weather was on our side the entire day with few crowds making for quicker stops at popular sites like Sandy's Banana Bread and a near crowd-less waterfall (which we climbed and jumped off of!).The Black Sand Beach might've been our favorite spot and was surreal to see in person.Would highly recommend the splurge and booking fully private, so you aren't subject to waiting for other guests' throughout the day. We were able to tailor exactly how 'adventurous' we wanted to be and where we wanted to eat, see, and do throughout the day.

Rick picked us up at our hotel. He was actually a few minutes early, so very prompt! We had a terrific day. He grew up in Hawaii and was very knowledgeable about the foliage and the sights of interest. The Road to Hana is a difficult drive for those not familiar with it. There are many one lane bridges and 600+ twists and turns. I would highly recommend getting a driver who has done the route many, many times. Rick is a fantastic driver and we felt very safe. The Cadillac Escalade was super comfortable! Rick made a special effort for us to see the Green Sea Turtles on the beach!

Was weary of making the drive myself since I wanted to view the sites instead of worrying about the drive. So glad sister and I booked this trip with Local Maui Tours. Met easily with guide (I'm horrible with names, Callen sp?) at a safe location. He drove a clean and very comfortable Wagoner. Felt very comfortable with his driving especially with all the curves, bridges and having to stop for single lane sections in some areas. He was very thoughtful and brought a fresh coconut and mangoes for us to try along with extra water. Beautiful drive with what seemed like waterfalls around every curve. Had plenty of time to enjoy the stops along the way.
