What a great day cruising through the road to Hana. Alec was very knowledgeable & entertaining. We all felt like we were just hanging with a friend. Doing a private tour is the way to do it & I highly recommend booking with Alec. A Great Way to See the 'Road to Hana'
We had a great trip to Hana, although it did cause some nausea with all the turns, so make sure you bring motion sickness patches or bands! We saw so many beautiful beaches and landscapes, we had delicious food at the famous bbq stop and our guide, Charlie, was knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed talking with him and he was a great guide for the day. One thing to note though is that if you choose to be picked up at your hotel, be aware that you may not get to stop at as many locations if the hotel is a considerable distance from the car pick up. Although we had a full day and were exhausted by the time we got back, I feel there were moments we rushed through some stops and other stops we probably passed by because of time constraints (because of our pick up and drop off location). While we did make a bunch of stops, I also feel like we were in the car for a long time. I recommend discussing pick up location and how it may impact your tour before the day you set off. Other than that, it was a great tour, we had a lot of fun.

We had a great experience on our half-day Road to Hana tour! Our guide Shayne was excellent with my parents—patient, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the area. He took us to some beautiful waterfalls and a few hidden spots we wouldn’t have found on our own. It was a wonderful way to experience the Road to Hana, and we’d definitely recommend this tour!

We had a wonderful experience with John who led us on the road to Hana! We are a big family of 7, so having a private car made the journey comfortable and enjoyable. John provided many snacks, drinks, phone chargers and more! He was incredibly knowledgeable of the island’s history and culture. Jill was amazing. It was our first time on Maui and she made sure to steer us towards truly unique experiences and away from some tourist traps. The ride in the Bronco truly provided an immersive experience of being in the rainforest and her skill in navigating the road in on/off rainy conditions left us able to take it all in. Black and red sand beaches, turtles, George, Huli Huli chicken, waterfalls, you name it! Truly unforgettable experience!

Was weary of making the drive myself since I wanted to view the sites instead of worrying about the drive. So glad sister and I booked this trip with Local Maui Tours. Met easily with guide (I'm horrible with names, Callen sp?) at a safe location. He drove a clean and very comfortable Wagoner. Felt very comfortable with his driving especially with all the curves, bridges and having to stop for single lane sections in some areas. He was very thoughtful and brought a fresh coconut and mangoes for us to try along with extra water. Beautiful drive with what seemed like waterfalls around every curve. Had plenty of time to enjoy the stops along the way.

After a great transfer ride, we decided to use Victor again to take us hiking. It was incredible! I would HIGHLY recommend Victor for any tour, but the hiking tour has been the highlight of our trip. He is very knowledgeable about the island. Victor can tell you all the places to eat, drink, and explore. He took us for coffee and treats, three different spots, including hiking and cliff jumping. He was great with our two kids too! He even took pictures and videos for us. If you are looking for any type of tour while in Maui, this is the company to use.

Victor is an awesome guy! We met him through Lyft and he gave us a lot of helpful information about Maui. He connected me with his colleague Mr Ford, let me just say, Mr Ford is the nicest person I have met in Maui. He prioritizes treating every traveler like they are family, and I definitely felt that. He is also very generous and considerate of others. He took amazing care of me and my mom. He took me up to the Nakalele Blow Hole, it was amazing!

What an incredible day! Our amazing tour guide, Momo, navigated the more than 600 hairpin turns on the road to Hana with ease, all the while pointing out the countless waterfalls and other beautiful sites and educating us about Maui's culture, history, agriculture-truly everything Maui! The hike itself was a one of a kind experience as we encountered the many different flora of Hawaii, swam in one of the volcanic pools, and viewed the majestic Waimoku Falls. The hike included a delicious homemade lunch, snacks, even ginger candies for anyone unable that had difficulty with carsickness! What made the tour truly special was Momo. Not only does she possess amazing knowledge of Maui, but her love for the island is truly palpable. It was by far our favorite day of the trip.

The road to Hana is not for the faint of heart, and it’s definitely not something that should be attempted by the uninitiated. To attempt this on your own will only sour the experience. Having a professional tour guide behind the wheel allowed my family to get the most out of the experience. Peter was informative, professional and knowledgeable. He enabled my family to get the most out of the experience without the stress of driving or knowing where to go.
