Honolulu Hiking & Camping

The owner, David, arrived promptly in his limousine and drove us to Waimea Valley and Falls. From Honolulu it was about 45 minutes to Waimea. He was well-spoken and a great storyteller. We learned much about the Wailea Falls, history, and visited the North Shore and small surf town of Haleiwa. We enjoyed lunch at a local food truck. We tried the famous shaved ice from the general store in Haleiwa. We also visited the Macademia Nut Farm/Store and enjoyed fresh Hawaiian macademia nuts! In the same parcel of land we saw a small truck selling homemade banana bread and ice cream-across the store and got to taste the local fresh Ice cream bananas! Very delicious! Lastly, we visited The Dole Plantation Store and learned about the special Hawaiian pineapples. We highly recommend a trip with David!!

This was a fantastic way to tour and learn about Oahu. Stephanie was the absolute professional and very passionately knowledgeable. She gave so many important details and made sure we were comfortable with our many stops. We filled up our pictures storage and now have great colorful memories. Starting with the hike to Diamond Head breathtaking summit, to the many beautiful views, beaches and towns from the van, it was the perfect day.

Our tour guide Jason was amazing and gave an in depth history of island culture. We truly enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend!

It was a very beautiful day, very good hike in the fabulous landscapes of Manoa Falls with Jorge. Lunch at the Tantalus lookout for the panoramic view of Honolulu is a very appreciable little extra. The pastrami sandwich is very good.

Our tour was the pinnacle of our first trip to Oahu. We hiked to the top of Diamond Head Crater, ate authentic hawaiian food and feel like we saw and experienced more in one day than the whole rest of our trip. The views were spectacular! Our guide, Jonah, was awesome! He shared so much about the island and answered all our questions with ease and knowledge. Definitely take this tour--You won't regret it!

Joe was awesome! He was very attentive to all of the guests and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and having a great time. The waterfall was absolutely gorgeous, and the lunch was delicious! Even when we had some minor van troubles, Joe went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and at ease. His positive attitude and excellent care really made a difference. I couldn’t have asked for a better day or a better guide. Thank you, Joe, for making our experience so wonderful! 🌺🌴 P.S. Valeria was the most amazing guide! We had the most personalized experience since it was just me and my friend with Valeria! This was my first hike and there were times where my anxiety got the best of me and I had to stop for a moment. She was so patient and kind throughout those moments that I was able to start trusting myself and let go of my anxiety. I also don't have the best balance, and I struggled a bit in the beginning so she created a walking stick for me from an obliging tree branch!! That made every step so much easier!! She also used my friend's phone to capture the most spectacular pictures and videos of our adventure!! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS HIKE!!! 10 OUT OF 10!!! 🌺🫶🏻

I had the most amazing private tour of Oʻahu with Elf, and I cannot recommend her enough. One of the things I loved most was that she allowed me to completely customize my day. I told her I wanted to get away from the typical tourist experience and see some of the places the locals love, and she absolutely delivered.Elf is a local and a body surfer, so she had so many wonderful stories and such a unique perspective on the island. She showed me places I never would have discovered on my own and made the entire day feel more like exploring Oʻahu with a local friend than taking a traditional tour.Her kindness really stood out to me too. I had a terrible sunburn from the day before, and Elf actually stopped at her surfers’ community spot and cut fresh aloe for me to put on my burns. It was such a simple but incredibly caring gesture, and it tells you exactly the kind of person she is.We visited a local shopping center off the beaten path and a wonderful coffee shop and artist colony in Waialua. We explored beautiful Haleʻiwa and the North Shore, and she took me to Waimea Valley to see a heiau. We then visited Puʻu O Mahuka Heiau, a very special place of worship with one of the most beautiful views. Being able to experience these places while learning about the island from someone who calls Oʻahu home made them even more meaningful.And then there was lunch! Elf took me to the food truck area in Kahuku, where we ate at Kalena’s Hut. The barbecue was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Hungry Man. You may not be able to finish it, but it is exceptional! We ate our lunch underneath a beautiful plumeria tree, which somehow made the whole experience even better. The pineapple pies made by his daughter were delicious, and Kalena himself was one of the friendliest people you could ever hope to meet. He was simply a joy.This is exactly what I was hoping for when I asked for a private tour. I didn’t just want to check places off a sightseeing list. I wanted to experience Oʻahu through the eyes of a local, discover places I wouldn’t necessarily find on my own, meet wonderful people, hear their stories, and come home with memories that felt personal.Elf gave me exactly that and so much more. If you want to see a different, more personal side of Oʻahu, I wholeheartedly recommend spending the day with her. It was one of those special days in Hawaii that I will remember forever.More than anything, Elf is truly a good soul and a beautiful person, inside and out. Her kindness, warmth, and genuine love for her island came through in everything she did. I feel incredibly fortunate that our paths crossed, and she will always be part of some of my favorite memories of Oʻahu. 🌺

Just finished this tour and had a wonderful time. Jason was our tour guide and did a great job. The walk to the waterfalls was so enjoyable and although i didn’t go swimming, many people really enjoyed it. Lunch was good too.

Great tour. John was a great guide. Takes you to a lot of cool spots. The shrimp truck was great. Waimea falls was awesome but recommended hauling ass up the mountain so you have more time to swim! Would recommend this tour to anyone and think the price is extremely reasonable for the experience and transportation around Oahu.

Elf was absolutely amazing! We wanted to experience as much of Oahu as possible, so she recommended a North Shore tour that included incredible snorkeling, historic sites, delicious food trucks, and several must-see attractions. Her knowledge of the island is exceptional—not only does she know the history and the best places to visit, but she also shared fascinating insights into the local culture and the ongoing efforts to preserve Oahu's heritage.She also suggested a trolley tour of the southeast side of the island, which perfectly complemented our North Shore adventure. Together, the two tours gave us the feeling that we had truly explored the perimeter of Oahu while learning so much along the way.If you want to experience the authentic Oahu beyond the typical tourist stops, let Elf be your guide. You won't be disappointed!

This is a great, easy trail with a spectacular waterfall at the end. It’s in a rainforest that gets 200 inches of rain annually so it’s wet. Be sure to bring a poncho. Our guide, Ray, was terrific!
