Great instructor, 2 hours was a good amount of time. Very personalized with the private lesson. That's what I would recommend for first time surfers.

I am older woman and first time surfer. Booked for one hour private lesson with Kahu surfing School. The instructor, Mr. Jameson did a great job teaching me the basics and getting me safely riding a bunch of waves and I was able to stand up. I really appreciated how friendly and accommodating he was. Thanks Jameson and Kahu Surfing school for creating memory for me to share it with my grandkids. It was an activity in English, but he explained it in an easy-to-understand way! It was a lot of fun and a great lecture and I was able to stand on the surfboard from the first shot! I'm going to ask you the next time!

We booked 1 hour lesson for husband and my daughter. The instructor was super helpful and my daughter was able to surf. She just turned 11 yo and this was her first surfing lesson ever. We love it!!!

Preston was awesome! My son and I both got up on our first try after his class. He asked about our history and went with smaller boards for us. The whole experience was fantastic. You meet at the famous Duke statue.

My wife and I had an incredible first-time surfing experience thanks to our instructor, Moki. From the moment we hit the beach, Moki was supportive, energetic, respectful, and incredibly kind. He made sure that no matter what, we were able to get up and ride a wave—something we didn’t think would happen on our first try!Moki stayed by our side the entire session, pulling us out to the waves, checking in constantly for safety, and giving us clear, motivating guidance. With his help, both of us were able to stand up and catch waves multiple times, which made the whole experience unforgettable.Although our session started about 45 minutes later than originally scheduled, we quickly realized it was because Moki wanted us to have the best conditions possible—and he absolutely delivered. The wait was 100% worth it for the value and experience we received.We truly got our money’s worth and then some. We can’t recommend this surf school enough for first-time surfers. Ask for Moki—you won’t regret it!

Chance was great super patient and gave awesome tips! The beach he chose was great for beginners and wasn’t very crowded at all. I would recommend scheduling an earlier time in the day though and blocking out your whole day for it because it was a ton of fun!

Chance was an excellent instructor! He was extremely patient and calm, and gave great instructions which helped us feel safe and at ease. It was such a fun experience! We would definitely take lessons from him again.

Preston was awesome. Very patient with my daughter and really did try to calm her down when she was panicking in the water. My daughter is on the autism spectrum and he took his time with her as much as possible. Highly recommended!

Our two teens have now developed a love for surfing after their 2 hour lesson with Preston. They both successfully rode a few waves and thought he was super cool, kind and amazingly knowledgeable, also impressed with his handstand surfing ability.
