Such a special experience. We had two captains on our tour, and both were so much fun and fantastic storytellers. We loved learning about the island’s history, native plants and wildlife, and how introduced species have shaped the landscape over the years. Seeing the outside of the cave where royalty was buried (safely from the boat) and the tree swing from Indiana Jones made it even more memorable!Lisa took wonderful care of us, keeping the drinks flowing and making everyone feel welcome. Clouds hid the sunset colors, and live music wasn’t possible that night because of the ongoing hurricane recovery, but the crew brought such joyful energy and had plenty of fun music playing. The whole evening felt relaxed, welcoming, and full of aloha.So happy we did this excursion—the captain and crew made it a highlight of our trip!

The Makana Charter Company is a class act - highly recommend. We took this half-day boat tour + snorkelling with our group of six, including four people ages 16 to 24. We felt welcomed and very taken care of by the friendly and knowledgeable captain and crew. It was a splurge cost-wise for us, but totally worth it. A highlight of our exceptional first visit to Kauai!

We especially appreciated our captain, Stevie. He had a wealth of knowledge about local history, and the plants and animals of the area. He had good knowledge about the impact of imported plants on the environment. The music was good and so were the drinks. We had an excellent experience!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Shasta and this family owned tour company. This was truly a top notch experience from beginning to end.Shasta is a local, and that made our tour feel so much more special. She shared beautiful places around Kauaʻi that felt like the kinds of places only locals would know. We weren’t simply sightseeing. We felt like we were getting to experience the island through someone who genuinely loves it and knows it so well.One of our stops was the beautiful Wailua Falls, and if you have the opportunity while you’re there, I hope you also get to meet Makepa B, the Lauhala Man. He was such a special person to meet and talk with and added another wonderful memory to our day. I thoroughly recommend taking the time to visit with him. You can also purchase a beautiful handmade keepsake to bring home, which makes the experience even more special.Shasta also took us to a wonderful local spot where we enjoyed fresh sugar cane and smoothies made with incredibly fresh ingredients. These little local experiences were some of my favorite parts of the day because they made the tour feel so authentic. It felt like we were getting a glimpse of the real Kauaʻi rather than just visiting the usual tourist stops.Because this was a small group island waterfall tour, we received such wonderful personal attention. Shasta was lovely, knowledgeable, fun, and incredibly helpful. We all had such a great time with her.What impressed me even more was how much she genuinely cared about us. I needed to get to the airport on time after the tour, and Shasta went out of her way to make sure I got there, personally dropping me off. That kind of kindness and customer service is something you don’t forget.Between the waterfalls, the beautiful scenery, the local experiences, and Shasta’s personal attention, this was such a special way to experience Kauaʻi. I would 100% recommend this family owned company and Shasta to anyone visiting the island.We had so much fun, made some wonderful memories, and I would book this tour again without hesitation! 🌺🌴

The overall tour of the Na Pali Coast was absolutely amazing! 🌊 The boat tour was a fantastic experience, with breathtaking views, beautiful scenery, and an unforgettable adventure on the water. The snorkeling was also a highlight, with beautiful clear water and an amazing opportunity to be in the ocean. The crew was so much fun, friendly, and full of great energy. They made us feel welcome, and really went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. Their enthusiasm and knowledge made the trip even more enjoyable. A Magical Way To Spend Your Morning or Day
Kayaking up the Wailua River was a magical experience. The river is so serene, and filled with beautiful hibiscus flowers. It’s like a scene from a dream. The hike to the waterfall is a bit intense (mud, slippery rocks, fallen trees) but with the right footwear (reef shoes are ideal) and some patience it is a very rewarding hike. The waterfall is beautiful! We jumped in and swam under the fall, very refreshing. The lunch was delicious, especially after all the activities. The sandwiches and fresh pineapple really hit the spot. Our guide, Thomas, was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, sharing with us secrets of the forest. I would suggest going with the earlier morning tours, as it begins to get very hot in the afternoon. An overall beautiful time, highly recommend!

What a farm should be....
This is the epitome of a farm. Huge gorgeous property where animals have everything they need in a natural habitat! Someone commented on our tour that it didn't even smell like a farm! So true. We were able to pet and hold baby goats. Never have I experienced anything like this. Animals were pictures of health and feeding stations and water were crazy clean. Beautiful stewards of creatures and land. These animals are very fortunate to call this their home!
