I have been searching for the perfect superlative to describe this tour, but everyone else seems to fall short in expressing just how wonderful it was. If you are fortunate enough to have Jill as your guide, you are in for an enlightening experience. She greets you with her effervescent personality, and as the tour progresses, you are introduced to the Hawaiian language, history, and sagas. Time flies by, and at the end, you wish you could have started again.

While we were disappointed that Kilauea was not fountaining, our guide, Jill, was very knowledgeable about the previous eruptions and lava flows in the park as well as the flora and fauna. My husband and I were the only guests as the other group who had reservations cancelled at the last minute but this company didn’t cancel on us. So we basically had a private tour!

Josh was our driver. Funny, respectful, he had a tons of knoledge about everything: the island, volcanos, past eruptions, culture, best places, people/ turists/ we learn & laugh with him...Highly recomend this tour & his company.

Jill was great. She had us laughing from the start. We stopped at Rainbow Falls to start and it was great to learn about the significance of the falls to the community. We then headed up to the Volcano National Park, it was eye opening, we hoped to see the eruption, but only steam. Jill shared a lot of info on the history of eruptions and what it meant/means for the community, great opportunity to learn. We really enjoyed walking in the lava tube. We stopped at a local chocolate store at the end and bought some home. Overall a great way to spend a day in Hilo.Thank you, Michael

Fantastic experience with Jill. Learned a great deal about the volcanoes and Hawaii history. Saw Rainbow Falls and went to the chocolate factory. Got picked up right at the port. Would highly recommend!

It takes you to beautiful places (some off the beaten track) & is inspiring, & Andrew is an interesting, inspiring, kind, & informative guide.

Good tour of volcano and other sites. Well versed in culture and tradition. Recommended to all who wants to visit the volcanos.

The tour had great stops! The legends and stories and history were all so interesting. We really enjoyed this one!

We had the best day on our tour to see the volcano. It was run by a small family business and highly well organised, fun and informative. The other stops of the rainbow falls, candy shop and botanical gardens were also great stops. The guide was also kind enough to go out of her way to drop us at a different end spot. Highly recommend.

Josh was the perfect host and driver for our group.Multigeneration and move at various speeds.Everyone needs to use Josh and his wife. You will not regret it.

Amazing tour of Volcano National Park!! Jill was our guide and grew up on the island. She was a wealth of knowledge. Being a small group we were able to see a ton of the park as well as explore some areas in Hilo. Definitely recommend this tour company!!

This was an excellent tour. Jill was very knowledgable and we saw many great sites including an erupting volcano, lava tubes, waterfall, candy factory, etc.

Cool Hawaii proved easy to use and kept us informed with on-phone tickets days before needed. Our guide, Jill Grotkin, was the bomb! Just the right amount of commentary along the way so there was also time for conversation. She seemed genuinely excited to be able to once-again get to sites closed due to hurricane Lala damages. We had a great time and never had any concerns about making the start or it ending in time for cruise-ship-dictated schedule.

Very pleasant, personable, and knowledgable. Out guide provided the perfect amount of commentary along the route. She made an extra effort for us to catch a rare fountaining. She seemed genuinely excited and pleased at being able to access sites closed until that day due to hurricane Lala. Highly recommended.
