We had an excellent experience with Big Hawai’i Tours. Fred and Maryna were excellent hosts and very knowledgeable guides! Checking in on weather conditions to ensure the best views, and seeing so many beautiful places! We traveled very comfortably in their mini bus and they checked on us often to make sure we were comfortable or if anyone needed a bathroom break or a snack! I love supporting local businesses because they are the most invested in making sure you have a great experience or service and this held true with Big Hawai’i tours and at great prices too! Fantastic tour and was a perfect way to see a lot of the big island. The volcano and lava tubes were amazing.

This was a great addition to our already planned drive of the north coast. The guide took us to places that we would have missed navigating ourselves. There was also lots of great information shared throughout the entire drive about the areas we traveled. We definitely recommend this guided tour if you want to travel the north coast.

What a great tour. Able to do at our own pace, doing the things we wanted to do the way we wanted to do them. All the great scenic views and learned so much history and meaning along the way! Absolutely the best! By far the best tour we have ever done and the price is incedible. Narator was perfect. Highly recommend!

This is a great way to travel the island on your own. You can stop or not at all the places they describe. Very enjoyable and easier than a noisy bus ride or group. We were able to stop and see what we wanted or choose not to.

This audio guide made our road trip around the Big Island with an SUV full of family more fun and memorable. We appreciated the detailed local knowledge including history (with social commentary), how climate variations with altitude affect coffee cultivation, and where to stop for lunch. Stopping at Big Island Bees was great, something we never would have done without the tour.These days, it's hard to keep teens and 20-somethings off their phones and engaged with the family on vacation. You have to "gamify" everything to get them looking out the window. This GPS-linked audio tour is a fine way to turn driving around into family entertainment.

We really enjoyed the off the beaten sites that Fred took us to, and appreciated the great selfies and pix that Maryna helped orchestrate. While we missed Kilaeua's eruption, we saw the real world effects of this lively volcano. Moving experience.

This was a great time! I have done many of these tours and they do save alot of money if you are willing to drive yourself. The car ride is entertaining with stories and directions. They are easy to follow and give all the info for each stop. Download the app. You will also find more on there.

By far the most useful tool for exploring the big island on your own (without a tour group). There were so many sights to see and suggested spots that we never would have known about, and it seems to be timed well so that you end up in Hilo by early evening. The narration that explained what you were looking at was great, and we loved the mood music. Tip: Leave early. We started out from Kona at 9:30. We were done with Hilo by 6, and decided to have dinner there. But that meant driving back to Kona on dark, twisty mountain roads at night. Nerve wracking. If I were to do it again I’d listen to the apps recommendation and start by 8-8:30, finish with Hilo at 5. Pack a picnic dinner or get some kind of take out in Hilo, then continue on to Mauna Kea (which we had to skip.)

Fantastic audio guide with lots of information, tips, and fascinating history of the island. They are very well put together, and easy to follow.

We used the app on both Hawaii and Maui and it worked extremely well on both islands. Loved the commentary, history, and Hawaiian mythology. Also the musical accompaniment. If you are doing a self-drive tour I highly recommend the app. Very easy to use.

Highly recommend Fred and Maryna’s Bog Hawai’i Tours. Kept our young ones engaged and entertained and we paid less for them (our 3 yo was actually free!).

It was an amazing tour with good vibes and an incredible view of all the places. The information was amazing and we all learned so much. Also the food/drinks provided were excellent and the gift given at the very end was a sweet gift that made me so happy. And the length of the tour was perfect length as they were considerate of the time spent idle. Overall this tour was the best tour I have been on, in Hawaii and in my previous travel trips.

By far the best day of our two weeks on the Big Island. Thank you Big Hawaii Tours. Only regret is that we didn't book Fred and Maryna's bundle tours our first day, as it was such an insightful introduction to the windward side. From the morning volcanic experience to the afternoon waterfalls and black sand beaches, BHT covered it all. Mahalo!

Our family of 5 had an incredible, all-day experience from Hilo with Fred & Marina (Big Hawaii Tours). Every stop was picturesque, the drive was smooth and in their premium tour van, and Marina even provided us local soft drinks, cold water bottles, and local snacks. Hilo is gorgeous and Big Hawaii Tours is spectacular. 5 stars!
