I purchased a private lesson as a gift for my boyfriend’s birthday. He found Jake to be a wonderful instructor! It was his first time surfing and Jake got him standing on the board and catching waves easily! Also, we both found Jake to be very friendly and fun while also being safety conscious. He was also kind and loaned me a beach chair to use while they surfed. Boyfriend had such a great time and we’ve enjoyed watching the videos that came with the lesson.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

My family and I had the best morning surfing with Jake! Both my 6 year old and 1 year old loved it and felt comfortable surfing with Jake. I also borrowed a board so I could get out and watch them catch waves. Jake then helped me to feel confident catching some waves with both my children on the board and we all had so much fun! Came back a second time for a group surf lesson prior to leaving Maui. The weather was not the most cooperative but Maui Surface Girls was very reasonable with their accommodations and allowed me attend part of 2 separate classes to make up for lost time. Even though I was booked as part of a group, Jedi took time to get me up on a couple of waves while the rest of the class finished their lesson. He also swam out to pull me into a shallower area after I drifted out deeper than I attended. Mario the photographer captured some great shots! Surfing was definitely a highlight of my Maui trip, thanks again Maui Surfer Girls!

I tried surfing for the first time ever in Hawaii! I had such a blast in the group lesson and met a lot of nice people! The instructor’s Devon and Theo were very friendly and knowledgeable about surfing and they were very encouraging to everyone as most of us were all newbies. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to try something new and get out of their comfort zone. I will say it is quite the workout to paddle out to the waves and does get exhausting. If you are aren’t in decent physical shape and very comfortable around the ocean I would caution you for safety to make sure this is something you are comfortable doing. It was a blast and I can’t wait to go back to Maui and try again!

Mario was very patient with my two kids who had their very first surfing lesson with him. He made the lesson easy to understand and fun! He made sure they understood all of the safety aspects before letting them get out on the waves. In particular, Mario was very kind to my daughter who was really scared to get out there. They had a blast!

Super fun private surf lesson at stoke drift surf school. Instructor Kiai was awesome super fun dude to spend the morning with learning to surf. Fabulous experience for my two kids who are 7 and 5. Leann and Reeves were so professional and made it so fun. The kids had a blast. They also took amazing photos and videos. I highly recommend this activity while visiting Honolulu. We will definitely do it again.
