What To Expect

If this tour is unavailable, try our 5.5 hr! It is very similar.

You will leave the Kihei boat ramp and go South to the Kanaio Coast. A brief stop at Makena to check on everyone and serve a continental breakfast, then off we go to Kanaio. We sightsee the Kanaio Coastline, sea caves, lava arches and compression caves. Then we head back and 1st stop is La Perouse Bay for snorkeling. After that we are off to Molokini for more snorkeling. If conditions permit we snorkel both the backwall as well as inside the crater. Then it is off to our turtle sight for our last snorkel stop. We will each lunch there after snorkeling. Then its back to the Kihei Boat ramp.

Q: Can I go snorkeling if I cannot swim?
A:

Yes, this is possible, as long as you are comfortable going into the water. All Cool Hawaii snorkeling tours adhere to strict safety regulations and have been designed to be enjoyed by all.

Your safety is our #1 priority, which is why:

  1. You will be wearing a flotation device at all times.
  2. On many tours, there is a stairway from the boat into the water so you won’t have to “jump” in!
  3. There are trained staff in the water and watching from the boat at all times.

For these reasons, we believe that even non-swimmers can have a wonderful time on our snorkeling trips, however, the final judgment call is yours to make. Please note we do not give refunds if you decide not to snorkel on the trip.

Q: Can we use our own snorkeling gear?
A:

The snorkel gear we use on Cool Hawaii tours is high quality and for your protection, the equipment is sanitized after each use. However, if you feel more comfortable using your own snorkeling equipment, feel free to bring it on the tour. Please note, there is no discount for providing your own equipment and we can’t be responsible for any lost or damaged items.

As an active member of the Dolphin SMART program, we do not have physical contact with the dolphins on The Best 4 hour inclusive Kanaio Sea Caves and La Perouse Snorkel. We watch them in their natural habitat from the boat.

First-time snorkelers can be assured of one-on-one instruction and assistance. We find introducing folks to our world very rewarding!

Q: What is the age limit for snorkeling?
A:

There are no legal age limits for snorkeling. We have found that age 5 or 6 is a good age to learn the basics of snorkeling, however, it’s entirely up to individuals to make the best choice for their family.

If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.

  • Cool Rewards is a loyalty program operated by Cool Destinations. Rewards may be earned by any eligible person holding a Cool Destinations account, subject to the Cool Destinations customer Terms of Use.

Earning rewards

  • Rewards can be earned by making bookings on the Cool Destinations website. You will be able to see the value of the rewards you can earn during the booking process.
  • Earned rewards will be issued in a pending state and will move to a confirmed state 24 hours after the start time of the experience.
  • Earned rewards will be available to redeem once they are no longer in a pending state.
  • For bookings that are moved to a different travel date, the rewards will be redeemable after the amended travel date.
  • If a booking where rewards were issued is canceled, the earned rewards will not be redeemable and will be moved to a canceled state.

Redeeming rewards

  • To redeem rewards, you must be logged into your Cool Destinations account.
  • Any available rewards will be automatically applied the next time you make a booking, and their value will be deducted from your order at checkout, unless you choose not to apply them, which requires you to indicate this via the toggle switch. Bookings made using rewards are subject to the standard Cool Destinations Customer Terms of Use.
  • You will not be able to redeem only a portion of your available rewards at checkout. It is only possible to redeem all or none of your available rewards.
  • There is no minimum order value required to redeem your rewards. This means that you can pay for 100% of your order with rewards.
