Maui Scuba Diving Introductory Lesson from Lahaina
Overview
A guided shore dive just off the coast of Maui is the perfect introduction to scuba diving. You’ll see some of the island’s best coral reefs while practicing the basics of diving at your own pace with a small group of four people maximum, ensuring personalized attention from the guide. Choose from multiple lesson times when booking.
We will need each person's name, height, weight & US men's shoe size to ensure the equipment fits correctly.

What To Expect
Once you complete some forms & view the online lesson, you'll meet up with us at the beach for an orientation and then suit up to try scuba diving on one of Maui's beautiful coral reefs. This is for beginners, no prior scuba experience needed. Only basic swimming skills are required and being comfortable in the ocean.
*TIME SENSITIVE:* upon booking we send you a link to register and fill out a medical waiver. Please do this immediately to rule out any medical conditions that would require doctor's clearance. ✍️
24 hours before the dive you'll need to complete the short online lesson on how to scuba dive, called Discover Scuba Diver eLearning. Once your lesson is complete, we will message you with the meet-up location. ️At our sites you can see coral, fish and even turtles!
When planning your trip, know that flying within 18 hours of SCUBA is unsafe and therefore not permitted. ✈️ And it will be necessary to complete the online portions and for us to be able to communicate with you to give you the exact meet-up location. We choose our sites based on ocean conditions and every day is different!
We need your height, weight & US men's shoe size for equipment.

- RESTRICTIONS: Minimum age is 12 years old
- RESTRICTIONS: NO FLYING same day. Must wait 18 HOURS after diving before helicopter, airplane or Haleakala
- RESTRICTIONS: Must submit an online waiver (medical clearance form)waiver needs to be filled out before going diving.
- RESTRICTIONS: Basic swimming skills are needed for this activity.
- RESTRICTIONS: A maximum of 4 people per booking.
- CONTACT: We need a way to contact you while on island. Please provide a phone (direct or WhatsApp) that will be active and will be checked regularly. If not mobile, then please provide hotel information.
- CONTACT: We will message you the day before with meet-up location.
- CONTACT: Upon receipt of your waiver, we will send you the 15 minute online lesson link.

The main concern with scuba diving and flying is decompression sickness (DCS). Your body needs adequate time during an ascent to off-gas excess nitrogen, or you can form bubbles in your bloodstream, possibly leading to DCS.
Jun 2024If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.
