The staff was helpful and friendly. the audio recording matched with the map and made the hike more interesting. The last part of the hike is challenging (I have a knee issue) but I was able to get to the top. I see the necessity of the schedule with some of the narrow areas and people going both up and down. My only comment is when I was scheduling this trip, it was not clear that you needed a park pass and the audio recording is just an extra. I heard someone in my hotel say he was going to hike Diamond Head & the employee asked if he had scheduled it. No he hadn't. I suggest just adding to Diamond Head description on the internet that you must schedule a date & get a pass

Hydration and sunscreen is important. Have a source of water. Be mindful of the trail leading up and down Diamond Head. If a person suffers of knee pain, make sure to take your time and I recommend to have a walking stick. For those carrying infants, have a type of baby carrier that keeps your hands free. For those that are claustrophobic, when entering the narrow tunnel I recommend to maintain the focus on the ground when walking. It’s a beautiful view of Waikīkī & its surroundings once reaching the summit. Overall this hike met my expectations. 10/10

There are 2 passes needed. One with the State, and the other for the self-guided audio tour - If - you want to have information during the hike. For the audio tour the price was about $9 per person, so I got 3. They give you a phone loaded with a recording that's separated by each of 20 stations. It was very crowded when we went, and we opted to listen on the way down rather than up, and instead of us each having our own learning experience - and out of sync with each other - we just listened on one phone, without the ear buds. That way we could discuss the information as we started walking again. It worked for us, anyway. The people at the Visitors booth were very nice, the hike was challenging, but rewarding. I would have not wanted to miss it.

The guides were the absolute best. I wish I'd had more cash to give them a bigger tip. I would highly recommend

It was a good hike up for hubby and I, depending on your physical condition, it can be a tough one but well worth it. The view was amazing!

The audio really made the experience so much better to know exactly the history of what you are looking at . Well worth the money

Me and my grandson decided to do it and definitely worth the hike.He took a couple of breaks but eventually made to the top and what a view loved it so beautiful from the top.

The guide contents are easy to understand, and it was good to know the history, but the WiFi environment is bad, so I should have downloaded it beforehand

Great way to travel around the island easy access around diamond head go at your own pace. We will travel thos way again

Take the hike to the top slow and easy and you will make it. I am glad I did. The views at the top are great.

Long walk be ready to sweat, AM hike is best for pictures also don’t carry too much weight the hike up is a workout on its own

I signed up with a live person Cool Hawaii Pre paid and when I got to the check in they said what I signed up was wrong . So I had to pay again. Parking and hike . Please refund me what you charged me for that I did not do .

Hiking to the top of Diamond Head provided exilirating exercise with a wonderful view and listening to the audio tour guide along the way presented historical and insightful information.

Do not call Cool Hawaii directly they will scam you for your money. You will show up and have to pay again because their customer service talks you into buying another admission that isnt for the hike.

The self guided tour was very informative. I loved the hike to the top of DiamondHead. Beautiful view from the top!
