Michael was absolutely incredible and knowledgeable and responsive to our needs and questions. He has innate ability to understand our interests and shared everything he possibly could with us. His humour was delightful and he is a true erudite, teaching us everything from language, customs, culture, geography, topography, history, food, and everything in between! I cannot recommend Michael more!! I have been sharing with everyone we meet about this tour and encouraging them all to book with him. He made our day absolutely perfect, giving us time in each sacred place, and all the time in the world to spend on eating or shopping or sightseeing, while guiding us about it all. He also cracked me open a raw macadamia nut, and taught us about the fruits and berries of the trees and plants and earth around us. I cannot wait to come back and meet with him again. Ehukai with Custom Island Tours was an amazing tour guide today. The 9+ hours we were with him went by so quickly because he made the trip super fun and informative! He was very knowledgeable about the whole island. He grew up here and therefore had a wealth of knowledge about the island and knew where to take us to go off the beaten path and to also hit all the major must-sees. Ehukai is a great and safe driver and made sure we were comfortable with temperature and beverages etc. He always made sure to stop for must have photo ops and to let us know if we wanted to do something or go somewhere all we had to do was just let him know. 100% recommend him and the company and would do the tour again in a heartbeat

Mel was great, provided lots of great information and a dash of humor. The van was perfect, modern with charging capabilities for electronics and very comfortable. We made numerous stops as we made our way to the volcano, all important to understanding the islands characteristics. Our day gave us a small glimpse of lava, no fountains but enough to scratch the itch to see. I did one day travel from Oahu, even with flight issues (a cancellation and maintenance problems) the tour group kept things on track and low stress. Really enjoyed the trip, and highly recommend.

So many beautiful stops
I am glad we left Oahu to see the national park and other beautiful parts of the big island. The weather at the top where you look out at the volcano was windy and rainy but still great! It was so cool to go from the outlook over the volcano to seeing what the cooled lava looked liked and then to change drastically to a tropical eco system to walk through the lava tube. Then we got additional site setting that included things like beautiful waterfalls. I would recommend it for sure!

Gregory did a great job of touring us around the island and explaining the sites. Enjoyed the donut and lunch stop at local establishments. His knowledge of the history of each beach and what makes each site unique made the trip very memorable. He had a great horticultural background as well.
