Oahu Surfing Lessons

I am older woman and first time surfer. Booked for one hour private lesson with Kahu surfing School. The instructor, Mr. Jameson did a great job teaching me the basics and getting me safely riding a bunch of waves and I was able to stand up. I really appreciated how friendly and accommodating he was. Thanks Jameson and Kahu Surfing school for creating memory for me to share it with my grandkids. My wife and I had an incredible first-time surfing experience thanks to our instructor, Moki. From the moment we hit the beach, Moki was supportive, energetic, respectful, and incredibly kind. He made sure that no matter what, we were able to get up and ride a wave—something we didn’t think would happen on our first try!Moki stayed by our side the entire session, pulling us out to the waves, checking in constantly for safety, and giving us clear, motivating guidance. With his help, both of us were able to stand up and catch waves multiple times, which made the whole experience unforgettable.Although our session started about 45 minutes later than originally scheduled, we quickly realized it was because Moki wanted us to have the best conditions possible—and he absolutely delivered. The wait was 100% worth it for the value and experience we received.We truly got our money’s worth and then some. We can’t recommend this surf school enough for first-time surfers. Ask for Moki—you won’t regret it!

Chance was great super patient and gave awesome tips! The beach he chose was great for beginners and wasn’t very crowded at all. I would recommend scheduling an earlier time in the day though and blocking out your whole day for it because it was a ton of fun!

Chance was an excellent instructor! He was extremely patient and calm, and gave great instructions which helped us feel safe and at ease. It was such a fun experience! We would definitely take lessons from him again.

Fantastic Surf school. We loved our lesson with Vance! My girlfriend and I did a 2 person lesson and felt totally taken care of the entire time. Got tons of waves, focused on the fundamentals, and most importantly had fun! Can’t recommend this Surf school enough

We booked 1:1 surf lessons for our 12 year old daughter at the last minute, as she really wanted to learn and give it a try! Kaa’aine (I think that’s the spelling!) was an incredible instructor, he was SO good with her, lots of encouragement, high fives, laughing and celebrating with her when she caught the waves! We also got the raw footage video package and SO glad we did, our daughter was smiling ear to ear throughout and we love that we can see that! 100% recommend booking!!!

Chance and Caleb were so helpful and quick to get us in the water. They made sure we were safe the whole time but weren't afraid to give us some good waves good waves after getting the hang of it. With 4 people, we were able to squeeze 4 or 5 surfs per person which was the perfect amount of rest for us in between!

Loved our surfing experience. Caleb and Matt were very patient and made surfing easy to learn. Had a lot of fun and all of us beginners caught a lot of waves. Would highly recommend this experience. The beach was more private than surfing on a busy beach for beginners

At 59 years old, surfing was on my bucket list. The staff at Kahu surf school were amazing! Special shout out to Cody, my instructor! He made this an experience of a lifetime. Thanks, Cody, for making this dream come true!!

So much fun! Was a bit nervous to begin with, but quickly gained confidence and felt myself progressing as the lesson went on (wiping out was almost as fun as riding the waves anyway). Glad I booked the two-hour lesson as it gave me time to attempt plenty of waves with enough "rest" in between (surfing is a real workout). Thank you, Kaine (sorry if wrong spelling)!

The two teachers were awesome and very patient with us! Definitely would book again, it was a lot of fun!!!

I had so much fun!! I never surfed before; apparently, I am an overachiever as I rode the wave all the way in. I could not have done that if it was not for the great education and instructions on how to surf! I had a lot of fun and would definitely do it again. FYI, Wear one piece and something covering your thighs for board burn.

Made it super easy and fun! Totally recommend doing this. I had a blast and if I have time before I go home I will be definitely doing it again!

Chance and Charolette were fantastic. This was our daughters (15,13,8) 1st surf lesson so they were a bit nervous ( so were we). Chance stayed with our 8 yr old when it was her turn so she wasn’t scared and she actually did the best out of the 3 of them!!! Each of the girls got ‘wave time’ and the 8 yr old actually stood up a few times. One of the girls got sea sick, Charlotte brought her back to shore and made sure she was ok. Each of the girls swim and understand the beach but even if they didn’t - I would have felt very comfortable having them take these lessons.Don’t hesitate to book them.. they are super chill, super friendly and very knowledgeable.
