Oahu Classes & Workshops

We are a skiing family of four that wanted to try surfing for the first time. Our instructor Josh was fantastic covering the basics of safety and making us feel comfortable in the water as we tried surfing for the first time on the north shore of Oahu. He took great care of each of us individually and provided excellent coaching and feedback in a positive way. I would definitely trust Josh and would recommend him all day long!

I am older woman and first time surfer. Booked for one hour private lesson with Kahu surfing School. The instructor, Mr. Jameson did a great job teaching me the basics and getting me safely riding a bunch of waves and I was able to stand up. I really appreciated how friendly and accommodating he was. Thanks Jameson and Kahu Surfing school for creating memory for me to share it with my grandkids. Best yoga class ever! If you’re staying at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki or nearby – just go! Sign up was a breeze @ waikikiyoga.com.I’ve practiced different kinds of yoga for over 30 years and was happily surprised at how awesome this class was. It was like a blend of various yoga styles and floor Pilates. We started on the big stability balls using straps to help balance. Can you say, “Fun!”? It is!! :D I’ve used stability balls a lot and straps a bit, but never together. The combination gives great control and the ability to get into deeper stretches. I liked having the straps in my hands while sitting on the ball because I felt like I could try things I normally would not try. Again, Super fun! Great core workout and stretching with support from balls and straps.Dennis is a magnificent master instructor. His voice guided me through the movements rather like a musical dance anticipating my ability (or lack of) and instructing me along the way. He is super patient and is a gifted teacher.I almost did not sign up because I have many injuries in various states of healing. Before the class, Dennis went over these with me. He did an amazing job of choosing stretches and strengthening moves to give a great workout without stressing my injuries. I so appreciate his ability to do this. It seemed effortless for him and definitely is a sign of a master yoga instructor. I haven’t had such a great workout without bad pain (think limping while walking afterward at a snail pace) in a long time. Thank you, Dennis!So, if you’re on the fence about taking the class because it seems intimidating – don’t be. Dennis will work with your ability, is gentle, and encouraging.You’ve gotta try yoga in this studio with the fun stability balls, support straps, and mirrors. Excellent yoga environment. The sound of the waterfall (inside the Hyatt atrium) blends with the yoga music giving the . perfect peaceful energy vibe.And, while I did this class, solo, it would be fantastic to do as a family. Dennis‘s ability to adapt to the needs of his students, his clear instruction, his humor (“let yourself hang out” when hanging over the strap) and his enthusiasm will provide your family with a fun and healthy experience. If I am back here with my kids, we will be signing up for a family session! What more can I say, just go! You’ll be glad you did! :D

My wife and I had an incredible first-time surfing experience thanks to our instructor, Moki. From the moment we hit the beach, Moki was supportive, energetic, respectful, and incredibly kind. He made sure that no matter what, we were able to get up and ride a wave—something we didn’t think would happen on our first try!Moki stayed by our side the entire session, pulling us out to the waves, checking in constantly for safety, and giving us clear, motivating guidance. With his help, both of us were able to stand up and catch waves multiple times, which made the whole experience unforgettable.Although our session started about 45 minutes later than originally scheduled, we quickly realized it was because Moki wanted us to have the best conditions possible—and he absolutely delivered. The wait was 100% worth it for the value and experience we received.We truly got our money’s worth and then some. We can’t recommend this surf school enough for first-time surfers. Ask for Moki—you won’t regret it!

I have taken two lessons from Magic Aloha and both were pop outs of my trips to Oahu. I had taken group lessons before which were fine, but this was personalized help from an expert. By the end, I was able to catch and ride a wave on my own. Surfing during sunrise at Waikiki is an experience I will never forget. Mahalo!

Mat was very nice and professional. He provided everything I needed and even stored bags for me. I had a great time surfing with him. stood up on the surfboard on my very first wave! The location was also amazing, it was perfect for beginners and uncrowned !!! Highly recommended!

A great way to experience the North Shore while challenging the core! The class flowed nicely and the sea turtles were an added bonus. Highly recommend!

We had a great time at yoga Kai! Our instructor was very knowledgeable, patient, and even took time at the end to take individual pictures of us in our favorite poses on the boards. I have minimal exposure to yoga and my boyfriend has never done it, and it was still a great experience. Don't need to be a Master Yogi or pro surfer to enjoy this experience! I would encourage anyone with the faintest interest to go and try it out! We did the sunrise in the Waikiki area. It got a little busy in the area we were in, but I would assume Sunset would be even more busy.

Eva was super friendly and a great adventure host! The haku lei was gorgeous and we took so many photos at the beach and on one of her favorite hikes. It’s a great way to experience a different part of the island from Waikiki and get some amazing photos too. Even after the flowers dry I’ll still keep the haku as a memento from my trip. Mahalo!

Fantastic Surf school. We loved our lesson with Vance! My girlfriend and I did a 2 person lesson and felt totally taken care of the entire time. Got tons of waves, focused on the fundamentals, and most importantly had fun! Can’t recommend this Surf school enough

We booked 1:1 surf lessons for our 12 year old daughter at the last minute, as she really wanted to learn and give it a try! Kaa’aine (I think that’s the spelling!) was an incredible instructor, he was SO good with her, lots of encouragement, high fives, laughing and celebrating with her when she caught the waves! We also got the raw footage video package and SO glad we did, our daughter was smiling ear to ear throughout and we love that we can see that! 100% recommend booking!!!

Had a great time experiencing my first SUP yoga class at Ala Moana Beach. I took the 8AM class and Julia was a great instructor. I'd say I'm very much at a beginner-level when it comes to yoga but wanted to do something unique and active during my time in Hawaii, and this was a great option! It was challenging at times, but overall it was a very peaceful and a once in a lifetime experience. We even saw a sea turtle! Will recommend and would do this class again.

At 59 years old, surfing was on my bucket list. The staff at Kahu surf school were amazing! Special shout out to Cody, my instructor! He made this an experience of a lifetime. Thanks, Cody, for making this dream come true!!

So much fun! Was a bit nervous to begin with, but quickly gained confidence and felt myself progressing as the lesson went on (wiping out was almost as fun as riding the waves anyway). Glad I booked the two-hour lesson as it gave me time to attempt plenty of waves with enough "rest" in between (surfing is a real workout). Thank you, Kaine (sorry if wrong spelling)!
