Amazing Scenery and Exceptional Service from Ray!Our tour with Hawaii Island Insider Tours was an incredible experience, and a huge part of that was our guide, Ray. He was knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we had a great day.The tour took us to some absolutely spectacular places, including Rainbow Falls, Akaka Falls, and the volcanoes. The scenery throughout the day was breathtaking — lush tropical landscapes, dramatic waterfalls, and the incredible volcanic terrain that makes the Big Island so unique. Every stop seemed to offer another picture-perfect view.Unfortunately, I needed to leave the group earlier than planned. Ray couldn’t have been more accommodating. He personally made sure I got back to the port safely while my wife stayed with the group and continued the tour. I truly appreciated his kindness and willingness to go the extra mile.My wife had an amazing time during the remainder of the tour and sent me some fantastic pictures of the volcanoes and the lava tube. Seeing those photos made it very clear that she got to experience some truly spectacular sights — and that I definitely missed out!Ray deserves special recognition for his outstanding customer service. He handled my unexpected change of plans without hesitation and made sure everything worked out perfectly. A terrific tour!!!
Can't imagine a better experience! Justin is an excellent tour guide! The tour van is his own and he keeps it in excellent condition. The tour is well organized with enough time at each of the stops to get a good experience of Hilo and the surrounding areas. He gets you as close to the volcano as you possibly can. The visit to the lava tube, the Rainbow Falls stop and the sea turtles stop are also memorable highlights.

Justin is a one man tour expert! Such a wonderful personality. Very personable, knowledgeable and a wealth of knowledge. The tour was a passenger van that held 12 passengers. The van was immaculate! There was plenty of opportunities to ask questions and free water was provided. The stops were breathtaking. The volcano, the waterfalls. WOW! We also stopped at the macadamia nut farm and candy/cookie factory. The opportunity to try samples and buy some sweets were fantastic. Ending the day at the beach watching turtles (honu) was wonderful. It was a fun packed day with a lot to see and do. Justin is just fantastic. I would highly recommend.

Excellent and a must take tour!
This was one of the best tours I have ever been on. My husband and I flew in from Oahu to Hawaii just for the day. The tour guide, Amanda, was incredible. She was waiting for us when we got off the plane and from the moment she picked us up was engaging and accommodating. She has so much knowledge of Hilo and the island of Hawaii and shares it in an understanding and very interesting manner. She took us everywhere and informed us of the best views and photo spots at the beach and waterfalls. She shared the history of the volcano, the current and past eruptions, the makeup of the volcano and the chemical reaction that is currently happening. She knows the landscape of Hilo, the vegetation and migration of the plants. She knows history of what country and people contributed to the development of Hawaii. She is so interesting and what she shares is fascinating. She is proud of her tours and loves the company she works for praising them for treating her so well and providing tours that people enjoy. The van was clean and comfortable. She is a great driver. The bento box lunch was delicious. She provided beverages and made the day very comfortable. This is a tour worth taking and I hope all of the guides are as enjoyable as Amanda. Working with Cool Hawaii is very easy too.

I rarely write reviews, but Daniel made it impossible not to. Out of all the tours we’ve taken, this was by far the best.
