The whole team was super friendly, welcoming, and professional, and we immediately felt comfortable.A special shoutout to our surf instructor Kainoe – he was absolutely incredible! 🤙 He was so patient, encouraging, and positive, and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. He really took the time to make sure we felt safe and confident in the water, while still making the lesson so much fun.Thanks to Kainoe, we managed to catch some waves and had such an unforgettable experience! You can really tell that he loves what he does and genuinely enjoys teaching people how to surf. From skiers to novice surfers
We are a skiing family of four that wanted to try surfing for the first time. Our instructor Josh was fantastic covering the basics of safety and making us feel comfortable in the water as we tried surfing for the first time on the north shore of Oahu. He took great care of each of us individually and provided excellent coaching and feedback in a positive way. I would definitely trust Josh and would recommend him all day long!

I am older woman and first time surfer. Booked for one hour private lesson with Kahu surfing School. The instructor, Mr. Jameson did a great job teaching me the basics and getting me safely riding a bunch of waves and I was able to stand up. I really appreciated how friendly and accommodating he was. Thanks Jameson and Kahu Surfing school for creating memory for me to share it with my grandkids. Ali is great.
Ali is great. I was super nervous about looking stupid doing my first surf lesson as a 37yo guy from the Midwest that had never thought about surfing until I booked my trip to Hawaii. Ali reached out before my lesson and made me feel like even if I couldn't catch a few waves during my lesson that it wasn't a big deal... which made it so much easier to actually do well. Once I got to my lesson she was direct and to the point on what I should do, even to the point that she told me "no, do it again like I told you" on the shore and after about 10 minutes on land she said "okay lets get in the water". I would have never believed i would catch my first two waves(forget the third and forth that I messed up because I wasn't doing what Ali said I should) even when I had poor technique Ali was kind,direct, and positive. Out of 12 waves I attempt in my lesson I am pretty sure I caught 8 of them. Ali is amazing. Btw apparently she also does hiking/rock climbing tours and after my experience with my surf lesson, I would go anywhere with Ali... because I know she has my back!!!

Lots of fun for my fist try at surfing. Turner, my instructor, was excellent at explaining and demonstrating techniques. The location seems ideal to this non-expert. Enough swells to learn and have fun and yet not too intense. If you get a private lesson, be prepared for plenty of sleep at night!

My son had a fantastic time. I did not have the stamina for the paddling to get to the waves. Our group went to bigger waves since all of us were stronger swimmers. This was great for my son. I did get up once or twice with the help of the instructor to get me to the waves but then bailed so as not to hold the others back as I am a bit older. All were able to get up and surf. The instructor remained very positive the entire time.

My wife and I had an incredible first-time surfing experience thanks to our instructor, Moki. From the moment we hit the beach, Moki was supportive, energetic, respectful, and incredibly kind. He made sure that no matter what, we were able to get up and ride a wave—something we didn’t think would happen on our first try!Moki stayed by our side the entire session, pulling us out to the waves, checking in constantly for safety, and giving us clear, motivating guidance. With his help, both of us were able to stand up and catch waves multiple times, which made the whole experience unforgettable.Although our session started about 45 minutes later than originally scheduled, we quickly realized it was because Moki wanted us to have the best conditions possible—and he absolutely delivered. The wait was 100% worth it for the value and experience we received.We truly got our money’s worth and then some. We can’t recommend this surf school enough for first-time surfers. Ask for Moki—you won’t regret it!

I have taken two lessons from Magic Aloha and both were pop outs of my trips to Oahu. I had taken group lessons before which were fine, but this was personalized help from an expert. By the end, I was able to catch and ride a wave on my own. Surfing during sunrise at Waikiki is an experience I will never forget. Mahalo!

Snorkel and kayaking were great. Kyle is a great guide: very accommodating and lots of local knowledge. We saw lots of turtles! Surfing was fun. The instructors were so helpful, very experienced, and were determined to help us get up on the board. So much fun, but plan on being exhausted afterwards!
