Jedi was super supportive and got me up on the surfboard in no time. I honestly didn't think it was possible due to issues with my knees. He was very patient with me and cheered me on every step of the way. We had a fantastic time with Hans Hedemann Surf! What stood out most was how seriously they take safety and professionalism — you can tell the instructors are well-trained and genuinely care about their students.My friend and I booked a semi-private lesson, and our instructor Peter was excellent — patient, calm, and full of helpful tips for beginners. He made us feel comfortable in the water while still pushing us to improve. Highly recommend this school if you’re thinking about trying surfing in Waikiki!The rashguard and reef shoes were included, which was a nice touch. We also got the photo package, and the shots turned out beautifully — great value and a wonderful way to remember the lesson.Will definitely come back next time we’re in Oahu. Our entire family had an incredible experience with Stoke Drift Surf Lesson. It was truly one of the highlights of our trip! The package included everything we needed, making the experience easy, comfortable, and completely stress-free from beginning to end. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. They offer lockers and a safe place to store your belongings.Our family ranged in age from 9 to 19, plus myself and the team did an amazing job accommodating everyone’s different ages and experience levels. Our youngest had her own private instructor, our two older daughters shared an instructor, and I had my own as well. This arrangement gave each of us the personalized attention and guidance we needed.They always knew how to position and guide us to avoid running into other surfers, even in the busy Waikiki surf. Throughout the lesson, they also taught us proper surf etiquette, including how to safely share the waves and remain aware of everyone around us. The personalized instruction, attention to safety, quality equipment, photography, and time spent in the water made it an excellent value for our entire family.Our instructors, Jaden, Keith, and Rickey were the best! Patient, encouraging, and incredibly professional. I highly recommend requesting them! They made everyone feel safe and confident while ensuring we maximized our time in the water. Although our family had surfed a little before, this was by far our best surfing experience.The entire team, including the photographer and everyone who helped behind the scenes, was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful. You can tell they genuinely love what they do and care about giving every guest an unforgettable experience. The photographer captured come amazing photos too, each of us catching waves, and some of us taking the same wave together.If you are visiting Waikiki, I highly recommend booking a session with Stoke Drift. They are truly the best surf team in Waikiki, and our family will book with them again without hesitation the next time we are in town. This experience created wonderful memories for our entire family and was easily one of the best parts of our vacation.You won’t regret it!

Positive experience all around. Easy and responsive booking. Clear instructions on where and how to meet. The coaches were friendly, outgoing, and experienced; showed effort in ensuring we had fun while also prioritizing safety. A great experience for my 16 year old daughter and 13 year old son. They had a great time pushing their limits of balance and coordination. They learned much and said their instructor taught well and was relatable. I would recommend Soul Surfing Maui to anyone looking to learn about the sport of surfing.

The instructors took exceptional care of our whole family, especially our two young kids, making everyone feel safe, confident, and supported every step of the way. As complete beginners, we appreciated their patience, encouragement, and personalized attention. By the end of the lesson, we were all standing up on our boards and having an amazing time. If you’ve ever wanted to try surfing as a family, this is the perfect place to start. They turned what could have been an intimidating experience into one of the highlights of our Maui vacation—and maybe the beginning of a lifelong passion!

We had an amazing experience with Brian and his team in Maui! I originally signed up for two semi-private surf lessons with my 10-year-old over the course of our trip, and after seeing how much my son loved it, we added a third private lesson just for him. Three lessons over five days, and he would have happily done more!From the very first lesson, our son was hooked. He had so much fun, gained confidence, and apparently became the crew’s little “mascot,” which made the experience even more special. By the end of the trip, he had officially decided that every vacation from now on needs to be a surf vacation!Brian and his staff are truly top notch—professional, encouraging, patient, and incredibly fun to be around. They made our son feel comfortable while still challenging him and celebrating every bit of progress. And the photos were AMAZING! Having those incredible shots of him out in the water is something we’ll treasure for years.If you’re considering a surf lesson in Maui, look no further. My grandsons (12 and 13) had a great time with Keoki. They both got up quickly and, with his coaching, were able to surf the entire lesson. We found him at the east end of the park. They wore their own rashguards and water shoes. They had so much fun that we went back a second day.

Windy weather messed with our scheduled lesson, but we managed to get three people foilboarding on a trip. What a blast! Steve, our instructor, was a professional parasailer in his previous life so he gives quick tips to help you get up on the board and enjoying your ride fast. My 15-year-old nephew deemed this the most fun he's ever had. He wanted to schedule another lesson for the next day. Steve is a joy to work with. This won't disappoint.

Me and my husband had the greatest time ever trying to learn how to surf with Andy from 808 surf School for the first time! We had the beach all to ourselves, and with Andys great instructions we both managed to catch many waves despite it being our first time trying out surfing. He is really good at teaching people how to surf, and you can tell that he loves what he is doing and that he is super experienced and knowledgeable. It was also really easy to get in contact with them to ask questions regarding the upcoming lesson. We really recommend Andy and 808 surf school.

Adam was an exceptional teacher. He was very engaged with us the entire session, I booked a private session for my 11 year old daughter & myself. Neither one of us have surfed before, my daughter was able to ride a wave the 2nd try thanks to Adam. They provided rash guards, water shoes & the long board was very sturdy. Upon returning to check in the entire staff was extremely friendly.
