I purchased a private lesson as a gift for my boyfriend’s birthday. He found Jake to be a wonderful instructor! It was his first time surfing and Jake got him standing on the board and catching waves easily! Also, we both found Jake to be very friendly and fun while also being safety conscious. He was also kind and loaned me a beach chair to use while they surfed. Boyfriend had such a great time and we’ve enjoyed watching the videos that came with the lesson.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

My family and I had the best morning surfing with Jake! Both my 6 year old and 1 year old loved it and felt comfortable surfing with Jake. I also borrowed a board so I could get out and watch them catch waves. Jake then helped me to feel confident catching some waves with both my children on the board and we all had so much fun! Positive experience all around. Easy and responsive booking. Clear instructions on where and how to meet. The coaches were friendly, outgoing, and experienced; showed effort in ensuring we had fun while also prioritizing safety. A great experience for my 16 year old daughter and 13 year old son. They had a great time pushing their limits of balance and coordination. They learned much and said their instructor taught well and was relatable. I would recommend Soul Surfing Maui to anyone looking to learn about the sport of surfing.

We had an amazing experience with Brian and his team in Maui! I originally signed up for two semi-private surf lessons with my 10-year-old over the course of our trip, and after seeing how much my son loved it, we added a third private lesson just for him. Three lessons over five days, and he would have happily done more!From the very first lesson, our son was hooked. He had so much fun, gained confidence, and apparently became the crew’s little “mascot,” which made the experience even more special. By the end of the trip, he had officially decided that every vacation from now on needs to be a surf vacation!Brian and his staff are truly top notch—professional, encouraging, patient, and incredibly fun to be around. They made our son feel comfortable while still challenging him and celebrating every bit of progress. And the photos were AMAZING! Having those incredible shots of him out in the water is something we’ll treasure for years.If you’re considering a surf lesson in Maui, look no further. We couldn’t recommend Brian and his team more highly. They made our trip unforgettable—and may have created a lifelong surfer in the process! 🌊🏄‍♂️🤙

Ivan was incredibly helpful and such an amazing teacher! My boyfriend is a bit of a slow learner (sorry for the shade 😂), but thanks to Ivan's instruction, he was able to pop up and ride waves on his very first day! That really says a lot about Ivan's teaching skills. Ivan was super encouraging and got us out in the water right away, which I honestly think is the best way to learn. Instead of spending the whole lesson on the beach, he had us practicing on real waves while giving us feedback and helping us improve each time. It made such a difference. It was absolutely worth every penny, and I'd highly recommend taking a lesson with him!

My grandsons (12 and 13) had a great time with Keoki. They both got up quickly and, with his coaching, were able to surf the entire lesson. We found him at the east end of the park. They wore their own rashguards and water shoes. They had so much fun that we went back a second day.

Fabulous experience for my two kids who are 7 and 5. Leann and Reeves were so professional and made it so fun. The kids had a blast. They also took amazing photos and videos. I highly recommend this activity while visiting Honolulu. We will definitely do it again.

My best friend and I took her two kids (3 and 4) for surf lessons and Eddy and Johnny were the best instructors. They were so patient with the kids and kept them calm through the whole lesson. Also, they had gear for all sizes and really took the time to make sure the kids were comfortable with them before getting in the water. For anyone with kids wanting to get them started on their love of surfing, this is the company to choose!! 12/10
