Ka'au Crater Tours

Our family spent a full day exploring Oahu's North Shore with Ryan from Mahina Tours, and it ended up being the absolute highlight of our trip to Hawaii.Ryan came highly recommended, but somehow still managed to exceed our very high expectations. From the moment we met him, it was clear that he wasn't interested in giving us a standard tour. Instead, he created an incredible day tailored to our family's interests and abilities.We started the day snorkeling and were amazed by the fish and marine life we saw. Ryan then took us to a secluded area where we were able to see sea turtles without the crowds that gather at many of the more popular locations. We stopped for a great lunch at a local food truck, went kayaking, and later spent time boogie boarding in some fantastic North Shore waves.One of the most memorable parts of the day was watching Ryan work with our kids in the water. He patiently coached them on their technique, encouraged them every step of the way, and somehow managed to capture amazing photos throughout the day. His energy, enthusiasm, and genuine care for making sure everyone had a great experience were remarkable.What we appreciated most was that Ryan showed us a side of the North Shore we never could have discovered on our own. His local knowledge, passion for Hawaii, and ability to connect with people made the entire experience feel authentic and special.

I cannot overstate how absolutely amazing our day with Ryan was. He picked us up, and then we were off for a full day of activities in places I would never have been able to find on my own. I gave him a very loose idea of some activities we wanted (waterfalls, beach, boogie boarding, snorkeling). He took us to places I assume mostly locals know about, because none of them were crowded or touristy. He was so flexible with us, with 3 boys it was important to me that we did activities good for everyone, and I was concerned with how that would work out. He was right there with us, not standing off to the side, but in the water helping my kids jump off cliffs, or getting them on boards to surf. The kids absolutely loved him, and we loved that he had no issues changing plans when they wanted to spend more time on one activity than we thought. After our day he sent me a list of places we had either gone to and wanted to return, or places he had mentioned we would enjoy for the rest of our vacation. Both my husband and I were blown away with his services. The pictures do not do justice, except maybe for the fact that we were having such a great time that photos weren’t important. It is all of our favorite day of the entire trip.

Amanda was fantastic! She guided us on a couple of really fun hikes with incredible views, took us to a beautiful beach, and even brought us to a great lunch spot (not included). She truly tailors the day to you, putting together the perfect itinerary based on your survey responses. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun, adventurous day!

Amazing!! Travis was great and showed us some really beautiful places with minimal crowds. It was so nice to have a custom day planned just for us. Definitely a highlight of our trip and would highly recommend.

We spent a full day of adventure with Ryan exploring Oahu — waterfalls, swimming, snorkeling, and even jumping off safe rocks into the ocean. We swam in the ocean, met sea turtles, and tried body surfing too. Ryan made every stop feel exciting and completely safe.What really made the day special was how Ryan connected with us. He was especially wonderful with my seven-year-old, who was so taken with him that he declared Ryan his “best third friend”!This was truly an unforgettable day, and we’re already planning to come back for more adventures with Ryan. Excellent day spent with Amanda. I came in a day early for a work trip to get a little R&R and was completely pleased with my expierence seeing the island. Amanda is very well informed, friendly, easy to talk to and made the day feel like I was hanging out a with friend vs a solo trip. All and all great way to spend the day especially if your are looking to squeeze as much in as possible in a short time. Very please with the choices she made and the beautiful island! Would totally recommend for, particularly as a solo female.

Absolutely the BEST Island Tour!! Ryan was on point with everything we wanted to experience and more!! We had the BEST day hanging out with him! Sites visited that would have absolutely never gotten to with other tours … We were celebrating our 25th Anniversary and Ryan made sure it was Epic!! Jeremy took us around Oahu for the day. We snorkled at Electric Beach, drive to anaamazing coffee place, yummy lunch in North Shote area, drive to a cool waterfall. We learned a lot about the different areas.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Incredible Day — Highlight of Our Oahu Trip! Our family of five (mom, dad, twin 23-year-old daughters, and 16-year-old son) spent the day on a private adventure tour with Caedon, and it ended up being one of the biggest highlights of our entire 7-day trip to the North Shore, Oahu! From the very beginning, Caedon was amazing. He called ahead of time to really get to know our family and tailor the day exactly to what we wanted, which made the experience feel so personal and special. The day was packed with adventure and absolutely unforgettable experiences. We explored Mermaid Cave 🧜‍♀️, snorkeled at Electric Beach where we saw tons of beautiful tropical fish, coral, and multiple sea turtles, and hiked to a hidden waterfall that honestly felt like stepping into another world. The brave ones in our group even did a 30-foot cliff jump! We also stopped for an incredible late lunch at local food trucks, which was such a fun and authentic touch. To top it all off, we went paddle boarding and kayaking down a gorgeous river surrounded by lush vegetation and more sea turtles everywhere we looked. What made this tour so special was how customized, adventurous, and seamless the entire day felt. Caedon was knowledgeable, fun, patient, and genuinely passionate about showing us the best parts of the island. We never felt rushed, and he made sure every member of our family had an amazing experience. We did a lot during our week in Hawaii, but this was the day we all kept talking about afterward. I highly recommend Ryan and his folks! We booked a Full Day Adventure and our expectations were definitely exceeded. They made sure we were able to check off everything on our Oahu bucket list. There were ten of us, ages 16 months to 62 and they accommodated our every need, even anticipating what would work best for our individual group. Wow..take this excursion! We had 12 adults in our group, all are 50’s - 60’s. When we visited Hawai’i they were having their bad storms Ryan had to find activities close to what I told him we would like to do, but places where the water was safe and no storms. Well, we had an absolute blast and saw so many sights! Since we had 12 people, they had to bring 2 cars which worked for us. We saw beautiful sights, swimming, ate at a local brewery and saw waterfalls. Thank you Ryan and Jeremy for a Perfect day in Hawai’i!!

We had an amazing day on the south shore with Ryan!!! Our two teenage girls had a great time as we went hiking, snorkeling and jumping off cliffs into waterfalls. Ryan's knowledge of the area was great, and he took us to places that we never would have found on our own. Overall, it was our best day in Hawaii and I cannot recommend this tour enough!!!!

This was so much fun! Our guide Jeremy was amazing! He welcomed us with open arms and I felt like I was just hanging out with a long time friend. It was our first time snorkeling and his knowledge of the area and skill payed off huge! We saw a monk seal, sea turtles, dolphins and so many other things! Highly recommend!
